The Historic Broadlind Hotel at Long Beach Convention Center

This is the message I sent the establishment. Decide for yourself. Very disappointed. I am so sad about your service. I booked this morning. Couldn’t get anyone to help with early check in. No response when calling and very slow response from text. I asked to cancel due to not being able to carry luggage up the stairs due to recent back surgery - no elevator. Was told it’s on the website. And you’re right, in the very fine print after most of us are bored with the description, and stop reading. I asked for a cancellation about two hours before I could check in - about two hours after I made the reservation- and you denied my request. Pretty sad. I’ll leave an accurate review and I’ll be certain to spread the word. Guess I’ll pay the $85 for cancelling or maybe, you’ll take the full amount. Will be interesting to see. And will be interesting to see your efforts for service recovery. I work in the hospitality business and your set up, with no people on site or to be easily contacted, is not customer friendly. They don't say this upfront, but there are no elevators! They hide it in their listing under accessibility instead of telling customers outright. The process getting in was super easy, but our room was nothing like the listing. I reserved a king room with a small kitchenette, but when we got there it was a 3 bedroom 3 bathroom unit with no king bed. Tried to text the number they provided but didn't hear back. Also charging $40 a night for parking is insane. There is tons of free parking around Long Beach so it felt predatory.

There is no front desk. Everything is done through self checkout/checkout. Hotel calls it "contactless". Codes to get into the hotel and your room. Got AT LEAST 5 EMAILS EVERY DAY leading up to the trip. All saying the same thing. All directing to the same website. NEIGHBORHOOD is terrible and extremely unsafe. My daughter got groped twice. Homeless people everywhere. Extremely disappointed. If you want place close to the Convention Center, don't waste your money

smelled so bad, walls are paper thin. paint chipping off of the wall. Boring place to stay nothing around

Great experience. Recommend this hotel. So much charm n uniqueness. Yes theres no in person interaction, code to get in main door, n ur room easy peasy. Other reviews need to read thier emails lol we had no issues u need to do your pre check in before walking up to entrance. I could see my car from our room which was nice. Sunday meter street parking is free. We stayd in room 306. Never heard any other guest from our room. Bed was comfortable. As mentioned no elevator all stairs so b prepared for that, we only staycatnd for a night, so it was fine for us. I would've loved a full body mirror on back of bathroom door, but they did have them in hall which was nice and useful to check your fit. I prefer the room door to have a deadbolt or reinforcement door latch for peace of mind and security once you're in. If i was staying here alone as a woman I wouldn't b comfortable with just the Electronic lock button from inside the room. Yes u hear cars outside n fire engine sirens, you're staying in the downtown of the city not the properties fault. Its and old historic building hence the name lol. The windows are not sound proof guys. 2 washers n dryers if needed , visa to pay. The lil lobby foyer area cute with an outdoor large balcony area you can sit and relax. One of the things we were missing was no ice machine in hall. For the price , kitchenette with microwave n fridge was perfect. Not pictured but room had luggage stool which came in handy. No receptionist, no maid service, no elevator with 4 floors and very expensive for the small "penthouse suite". Def not worth the $ Old and quaint is cool if the price was relevant.....

We stayed in the 2-bedroom suite. The unit has a full kitchen but dishwasher did not work. The refrigerator has an ice machine but it was not connected. The clothes dryer did not work which was a bummer since I washed clothes while there. The electrical plugs in master bathroom did not work. The unit is spacious and quiet. We walked to Catalina Ferry and Ocean of The Pacific. There is Vons nearby and pizza near hotel was good.
