Except for the online self-service check-in, which is a bit troublesome, everything else is good. All kinds of daily necessities are available, all the windows can be opened, and the scenery outside the window is peaceful and elegant. The room is a 10-minute walk from the beach. There is a marina and a beach on the beach. There is a large supermarket 50 meters away, and there are Japanese and Thai restaurants nearby. The antique building is very interesting. Ctrip's service is so good. I'm worried that the self-service check-in will not be successful. Ctrip's customer service has been helping to follow up.

I recently stayed here and unlike majority hotels this place has no lobby. I purchased my room and 2 night stay and payed around $600 and when I got to location I had to not only do all of my check in from a QR code link but pay an additional $240 for parking. Room was a studio size, bathroom was small, shower head had calcium buildup on it.

The rooms have charm, but this place is missing all the basics that I want from a hotel - service, a nice quality bed/mattress, nice linens, and peaceful night's sleep. The windows are old, so you can hear all the street noises. It would all be less annoying if it wasn't so over-priced. Keep in mind that in addition to the room charge, there are other charges that you only find out about after booking, like a $60 fee to hold a bag and a $200 security deposit that they actually charge on your card (rather than merely hold the way other hotels do). 2 full days after checking out, I'm still waiting for my security deposit to get refunded, and I can't get anyone on the phone to talk with.

Was in town for a week of intense on-camera work, early AM / late PM return. I only ended up staying 3 of the 7 days I booked. On day 3 my room door keyless entry wouldn't work. Yes, I was using the right code; the door would blink green and then go right to red and wouldn't open. NO ONE EVER RESPONDED to my 12 phone calls and 32 text messages. Apparently there's a 24hr number in "the binder in your room" and buried in some email but my phone wouldn't pull up emails. I knocked on room #100s door but there was no answer. No numbers posted anywhere. My mind went to Unsolved Mystery mode - I couldn't call a locksmith as I was afraid I wouldn't be able to lock the door after. I spent a few hundred dollars on last minute toiletries, medicine (T1D), and clothing. I called 4 hotels before I finally got a room at the Renaissance for $442.16 at 11:30pm. Broadlind refused to reimburse me and will not reply to emails, messages, or calls. (They sent someone to fix the door as verified by a resident at the apt but NEVER told me, assuming I'd eventually come back). I am an avid traveler, over 200 stays a year - this was beyond the worst experience ever. The bathroom is also gross, FYI.

WHAT WE LIKED · We stayed in the Gorgeous Penthouse on the top floor and it was beautiful. The photos are accurate other than the obvious fish eye that makes all rooms look larger than they are. We stayed here for CaliVibes festival. I'm a sucker for the historic, eccentric, unique properties with architectural details so this was right up my alley. The kitchen had beautiful tile though we didn't make any meals there - you could have made simple breakfast, lunch, etc. Mainly we used the fridge to store our late night snacks and bottled water. Basic coffee service, dishes, and utensils were provided. The old windows are so lovely and all of them open but you will get the noise from the lively bar downstairs. We had plans to drop in to the Blind Donkey but the music festival really had us beat at the end of each day. The codes for the door and the room worked well. The bed was adequate but not amazing like some hotels have. I had no issues but hubby didn't sleep as well. The bed is in a nook so you do have to kind of crawl into the bed and that was not ideal but once my head hit the pillow, I was out. The Broadlind is surrounded by cafes and restaurants and there was a grocery store just a block or two away. Very convenient location for any events at the convention center or Marina Green Park. WHAT WE DIDN'T LIKE · Check-in time is quite late at 4pm. I messaged and called the contact number provided in the email from Broadlind to ask if we could pay for early check-in ($45) on the day we arrived and never received a response to my phone call or my text message. I was happy to pay the fee if it wasn't too late on our arrival day to do so through the "contactless" system. I did not want to pay the fee and then not be able to check in because we didn't pay far enough in advance. I had read other reviews that mentioned issues when not allowing enough advance notice for the "incidental deposit form" to be completed before arrival. We had already done that, no issues, but now wanted to add early check-in, and ultimately, did not because of the complete lack of response. Resort fee of $35/day but there are zero resort-style amenities such as pool, gym, cafe, restaurant, or bar. No ice machine or vending machine on site. No cleaning of the room so no restock of coffee service or towels for a multi-day stay. The sofa bed was a futon and super lumpy. Blankets and pillow were provided but no sheet to put down. We found an air mattress but discovered very quickly there was a hole in it. No response to text message or phone call asking for replacement. We debated finding a sporting goods store to buy our own but ended up just roughing it on the futon. There was staff on site but they are quite stand-offish and will ignore you or act like they don't understand what you are saying to avoid helping you. SUMMARY - I adored the property and the location but the excessive "contactless" policy is a complete turn off. If everything was perfect with the property, an

Stayed one night while at a convention in Long Beach. The pros: room was clean, fairly easy to access, felt safe; cute restaurant downstairs and located on a fun block. The cons: no concierge or desk for help; cannot check into the room until 4 pm; the room is tiny (like Ikea tiny house tiny); the block is cute, but I wasn't willing to venture much beyond; it's walkable to the convention center, but not really if you have any luggage or heels; internet is not stable (worked part of the evening, gone the rest of the time); it's not ADA friendly at all; and as others have mentioned, the walls are very thin (you can see the light in the gaps of the door to the hallway). If I were looking for a cute, historic, hotel for a night or two (it's really too small for anything more) for a young adventurous person or couple, this would be a fine, fairly inexpensive hotel for that. For a business trip, or for someone who is looking for a vacation hotel to be able to relax in, this is not it. I'll be back to Long Beach in the future for business travel but won't go back here and would not recommend it.

Almost cancelled our reservation because of some reviews here, and I'm really glad we didn't. We found the Broadlind to be not only beautiful and unique, but also perfectly clean and fairly quiet. This is a historic hotel in downtown Long Beach, so you do get some evening neighborhood noise, mostly on the Linden Ave. side by the windows (which actually open!). But there is no "nightclub," no pulsing music. There's a Thai restaurant on the first floor and a wine bar across the street, and the "noise" is people having a good time - which you likely will too. The friendly cleaning staff does a great job; the old tile and fixtures have a few blemishes, of course, but our room was perfectly clean. Only drawback - and worth consideration for seniors or those with physical limitations - is the lack of an elevator. Stairs are steep; plan accordingly. All in all, we would definitely go back.

Just want to express my appreciation for this exceptional historic hotel. I stayed in the one-bedroom suite with my friend for their birthday weekend and it was perfect! The room was very clean and the location was perfect for us to eat and go out. I definitely recommend the Broadlind!
