I had an amazing stay here. I was traveling alone but was upgraded to a cottage with a kitchenette - more than what I needed! Cute living room with couches and coffee table. The bedroom was behind a half wall. I believe a couch also pulled out into a bed. The bathroom was down a narrow hallway. Rainhead shower. Nice covered porch with chairs and table. When I arrived I borrowed a bike and rode along a path on the beach and explored the town. Bike is just a cheap one with a step down brake. First time in decades I've ridden a bike without hand brakes. The beach and town were all walking distance, within a couple of blocks. The beach has a lovely boardwalk plus the paved path for bikes or walkers. The bed was very comfortable and the large flat screen TV swiveled out to face either the bed or the living room. In the morning just before 9am I was brought a basket with 3 large old fashioned donuts - very yummy! I loved the noon check out time because I'd booked a 2 hour horse ride on the beach at 9am, so I had time to check out after the ride. The only thing I found fault with is that there was no phone in the cottage. How to get in touch with the reception other than walking to the office? I'm from Canada and our roaming rates are horrendous so I prefer not to use my cell phone while traveling. A phone in the cottage for local calls would have been very nice. This is the first place I've stayed at without a phone in the room.

Very clean, great location, dog friendly for only an extra $20 per stay.. We really liked this place! Restaurant at the top of neighbor Adrift hotel is very good. Morning pastry delivery is a nice touch.

We decided to get out of town for Thanksgiving. Wanted a luxurious place with a kitchen to warm up and cook dinner. For$225. And the enhanced photos I thought it would be somewhat elegant. First the "courtyard" view is the drive way parking lot. Still stayed open minded until we walked in. Inside the front door dirty and grimy, same with inside the bathroom door. One of the vinyl chairs has stains from spills. There are no throw rugs so you have to keep your shoes on. There's dust on everything, the kitchen cabinets have a lit grime too. Now if this was$120 or 150. I'd be fine. And our room is supposed to accommodate 5 people. It's a really small space. The people who run it are nice. They need to make sure their cleaning people do a better job. O and of course they don't have any streaming services you're supposed to bring your own and chrome cast to their tv. Again we naively assumed for 225 plus tax we'd get some premium tv. Nope. I do not recommend this place at this price point it is a rip off.

Very clean cute cottages. Would recommend to others. Close to beach about a 5min walk. Close to town and eats!! Also within a block of Putt Putt golf, bikes for rent, and Go-carts. Long Beach is a charming little town and a must do is lunch at the "Loose Caboose" diner!!

I really wanted to love the Boardwalk Cottages after staying at Adrift and not liking that property. Previously we were allowed an earlier check in because we were staying at the sister property and the front desk staff at Adrift/ Inn at Discovery Coast were so helpful and accommodating. That was not the case at the Boardwalk Cottages. While it is another sister property, it is run by different staff. The front desk receptionist was icy at best when I requested an earlier check in. She was a bit more pleasant when we were finally allowed to check in to our room. We were located in cottage 11 which is right next to the largest cottage, occupied by a very rambunctious family with small children. For the next hour or so as we tried to rest, we were inundated with the sounds of pounding feet running up and down the stairs and squeals of delight. Probably very nice for the family itself; not so nice for us: the older couple next door trying to rest. The lighting situation was strange. The lights in the room were very dim. Though there was a sky light, it was too dim in the room to eat dinner or even read a book. The bathroom, however, was lit up like the sun. Evidence of wear and tear were prominent. Tiles off the tub, paint missing from the walls, privacy sheeting over the bathroom window was peeled off so anyone outside could look in. The lower levered blinds did nothing to protect privacy of a taller person. In the bathroom was a locked door and sounds came from this closet at odd times. I came to the conclusion that it was an on-demand hot water heater, but was shared with the next door property. Every time they ran water, our quiet was disrupted by this sound. This was not a quiet room. There were dishes provided, a microwave, and a refrigerator made up the "full kitchen". There were even dish towels and dish soap for cleaning up...in the bathroom sink I presume? Thankfully in-room coffee service was provided and we enjoyed the scones which arrived at our front door sometime around 9 am. Do note that early check-in or late check-outs incur an hourly fee ($50) and may not be available.

Beware! I was charged $363.08 for a one night stay in their cheapest studio room. Even though online it says those rooms rent for $217. I tried to email them to see what is going on and they said their rates change daily. What kind of garbage is that? We were hoping to make this a yearly trip but it looks like we will have to find a new place to stay. I won't go to a place that changes their prices daily and fluctuates that much. Who can trust that? Not me!

We had an amazing time at the Boardwalk Cottages. The rooms were so great. They thought of everything you might need. They even had popcorn and coffee for the French press. The location is within walking distance to the beach and downtown. The people couldn't be friendlier. Every person we dealt with was kind and helpful and they all made our stay so enjoyable. They have bikes and helmets you can check out for free and we rode along the Discovery Trail. At 9am they brought a basket of scones to the rooms. We are already planning our next stay. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

While the room was comfortable and Orianna in the office was exceptional, people should know that while they call themselves "self contained" and "cottages", you do share walls with other units. So if you have a family with dogs next to you, as we did, the idea of a quiet romantic getaway is out the window. We did ask if we could switch rooms after the first night, and that's where Orianna shone.

2 night stay in Deluxe Studio Room 11, March 2022. Very comfortable bed. Nice decor. Jacuzzi tub is deep, powerful with plenty of hot water. Fireplace kept room warm. Fresh scones were delivered to our door. Excellent nearby restaurant- a part of the hotel group - called Pickled Fish, in the nearby Adrfit Hotel. A couple of dings: 1) There is a slight difference in height between the room and the bathroom, but it's enough of one that we kept tripping in the bathroom doorway. 2) No coffee maker, but an electric tea kettle and French press instead. Did not like messing with that when I'm desperately in need of coffee first thing. If it matters to you, I suggest bringing a small coffee maker and that the Boardwalk Cottages consider replacing French press with a regular coffee maker. Otherwise, a comfortable experience and we'd stay again.
