Great view across the grassy dunes of the ocean. Really enjoyed watching the sunset from our balcony. Hiking/biking trail adjacent to the property. Outdoor grills and an enclosed patio. Comfortable room. Full breakfast. Reasonably priced.

Amazing place to stay. Rooms are clean Staff are friendly excellent breakfast definitely coming back next year. Kids had a blast

Probably the worst place I’ve stayed in four continents. Over-priced. Venue looks as if it hasn’t been touched since the 1960s. Breakfast room like a mess hall; pool and hot tub closed. Woken near midnight because another guest forgot to close their bathroom door when showering and set off all the alarms. Staff disinterested. Avoid.

Pro: the hotel is right near the beach. There is a trail direct from the hotel to the Discovery Trail. This is definitely an older hotel that is getting renovated slowly. The floors feel like vinyl. At least, no carpet. There was a broom and dust pan in the room so sand could be swept up if you brought some in. The view of the dunes is great. There is a sliding glass door access to the dunes and a pet relief area is nearby. The breakfast had omelets, sausage, biscuits and gravy along with a variety of cereals. Perfectly adequate for our needs. Cons: if you are mobility limited, be very specific in what your needs are. The double queen room on the first floor had a very narrow distance between the end of the beds and the dresser. Very limited turning radius in the whole room. All of the rooms have direct outside access. No interior corridors. When asked about grab bars in the bathroom, there was exactly one on the wall near the toilet. The tub had recently been renovated so no grab bars. The front desk said that they had installed some grab bars in regular rooms that are not ADA compliant. The baseboards in the breakfast area are currently not installed. Looks like some new paint in the breakfast area. Or at least the paint is not chipped up yet or dingy.

We went for our yearly anniversary/husband's birthday trip to Chautauqua Resort. The pictures looked nice and it was available in the time frame we wanted. My husband said "It's a bit pricey" but the pictures deemed it worth it. We were there Aug 11, 2024 - Aug 14, 2024. I read the reviews previous to going and they all seemed pretty positive except for one. And hers is gonna sound a lot like mine. I don't know where the photos of this place came from online. That room didn't look like mine. Nice wood laminate floors, well lit room, beautifully framed pictures, writing desk, one picture has carpet are things that were not included in our $500+ stay. We got super creaky floors, any time we walked, creeeeak, some sorta noise came out of the floor. We were lucky too to get it overtop our heads. Anytime someone moved upstairs, we heard it. Dents or spots on the walls, old laminate on the floors, it was like a scene from the money pit. Everything was OLD and worn. The bathroom tub had stains, the bathroom door had paint chipping away at the bottom, there was no phone in the room either. Which seems like nothing, but really, maybe it wasn't there to slow us down from calling or telling someone this is NOT WORTH $500. I went and explained to the front desk that the room we got, was not what we ordered. She told me that I already got a discount from ******* and she couldn't give me one. That's not why I'm telling her. I'm telling her because our room is a sh*t hole. I would never pay money for that. We won't either be coming back. She said that our room had been recently renovated and she kept saying it over and over like it was going to magically make our room look like the pictures online and then she said the second and third floors look like the pictures. Uh....what in the actual f---? So, if you don't care that it's a risk getting a room that looks like their advertised pictures, that your hotel room door looks like it isn't shut because you can see light through it, that you won't have a phone to call and say WHAT THE HECK about your room, then go ahead, book your stay. The nicest people at the front desk were there at arrival and when we left. Two older looking ladies who, if I'd had patience to explain why we won't ever come back, probably would have listened unlike the girl who didn't know what she was talking about. We did get a call about my negative review on the way home from staying there and then didn't hear back. Someone was going to check the room we were staying in ...but what you'll find in room 137 (if memory serves) is that THAT room, looks nothing like their pictures. And no, it has NOT been renovated for a while.

Perfect location, quiet, nice rooms, amazing continental breakfast. We came to ride our bicycles so food and rest were key to our success. We were completely satisfied. My friend especially appreciated leaving the slider open through the night so we could enjoy the fresh ocean air. Close to everything and off the main drag so it was VERY quiet.
