Maldron Hotel Derry

Great hotel right in the heart of the old city walls. Very friendly staff. The free parking was a real bonus too.

We had a family function that included several rooms to stay for family members travelling. Everything went brilliantly, the rooms were great, the function room and food were excellent and all the staff couldn't be more helpful which meant everyone had a brilliant night! And a special shout out to Chiree who helped organise everything in advance esp with the setting up of the function room and making sure everyone's dietary needs were met.

Not sure it was worth £200 a night however it is very clean! We stayed for two nights. The staff are really nice and can’t do enough for you. The bed was really comfortable, the bathroom however could do with some modernisation seemed bit tired. The breakfast was also good and fresh. All in all a nice stay.

Good location, comfortable beds, quiet room. The rooms are dated, no mini fridge in the room, no air conditioning. They do provide a small fan as the rooms get stuffy. Stayed 3 nights & they only made the bed for 1 night, not sure why. Very expensive room rate. We paid much less for a room in a five star hotel in Dublin. There don’t seem to be many hotels around this part of Northern Ireland. Overall a comfortable stay.

We had a brillant experience from the start of our inquiry until the end of our son's wedding reception. The events manager Chiree was extremely helpful and informative, and nothing was too much trouble. My initial phone call enquiring about a reception for over 80 people was discussed with options, choices , prices, and an appointment date set for discussion. On the night, the function room was beautifully laid out. The manager Lynn supervised the meet and greet red carpet and wine reception with attention to detail. The staff were excellent. The meal was delicious, warm, well cooked, and plenty of it with a good varity of choice. My compliments to the chef. All dietary requirements were met. The service from the waiters was excellent, as was the DJ and music. Our son and his wife stayed overnight in the honeymoon suite and had an excellent breakfast in the morning. All the staff were friendly and helpful from the receptionist to the waiters and to the overall supervisor of the wedding party, nothing was too much trouble. There was good car parking below the hotel. I can't thank Lynn Chiree and her team enough for making this one of the best wedding functions I and my family have ever attended. From the complements received from our guests, they also thought so too. Once again, a big thank you to all the staff. I would highly recommend this hotel for a stay or a wedding reception or party

Location was perfect. Rooms so clean and fresh. Staff are very pleasant and were on call for any of our needs. Lovely atmosphere.
