This was our second stay at the Clarendon Hotel, Blackheath and we were equally as happy with our choice.
The super king (bed) room was spacious, clean and well provisioned. If I have any critisisms (constructive I hope), they are that drinking water and herbal tea bags should be provided.
The style of the room, whilst lovely, was a little confused. Mahogany and walnut veneered furniture, and white painted wooden curtain poles...
The breakfast included in the price was excellent, with plenty of choice and freshly cooked english breakfast. The evening meal menu was also excellent and the food did not disappoint. The breakfast/dining room staff are extremely helpful, attentive and friendly.
Wonderful experience stayed in The Clermont London, Charing Cross.
Good staffs, services, restaurants. As well as the great location, it's actually located in the best spot of London, close to the museums, subway, and train stations.
Will definitely recommend people to stay here, and I'll also surely come back again.

Location is superb, worth recommending to everyone. I literally felt like living in the center of universe in the sense that you can reach all the major sightseeing places within 30min walking distance. Right across street from the National Gallery and National Portraits Gallery, about 20min walking to the British Museum.
Generally it’s clean except for on the first night I had to call hotel room to send someone to declog the shower drain. Other than that the overall stay experience was great. Would recommend to family and friends.
Very central, big hotel. free coffee in.lobby. This Citadines didnt include housekeeping unless it was paid extra. There was no mention anywhere of this in hotel description during booking. I was at a Citadines 1 week before in Tokyo and there they had a choice, both free. According to London reception.desk it.was.because these are *apartments* (but so were the Tokyo ones) and they told TRIP.com didnt provide all info and they were not responsible. I was asked to leave a review on Citadines where I mentioned this issue to receive a very 'defensive' reply of reception manager after a few minutes. Its not a super big deal but the way London staff handled things is not like one would hope: very defensive and not very nice honestly.
The hotel is very centralized. Walkable distance to most of the tourist attractions like Big Ben, Buckingham Palace etc. size of room is small but it's okay for a solo traveller. There is also a police station right opposite the hotel which makes you feel safer. There are also alot of restaurants and pubs around. Subways are also walkable. Definitely worth a stay.
I always stay at this hotel every time I go to London. It is right outside the subway station, opposite Trafalgar Square, and only a dozen minutes' walk from Chinatown and Soho. The Thames is just a few minutes in the opposite direction, and Big Ben and the London Eye can be seen in ten minutes. However, among hotels with the same geographical location and comfortable environment, this one is the cheapest! !
Good location, right next to Trafalgar Square, next to Tesco express and Macdonald. The hotel room is also large. Friendly service, you can order Chinese food with just eat. The room has a microwave. Hygiene is average, seems gray, and the bathroom has a slight odor. There is no own parking lot. There is a cooperative parking lot on the other side of the square. You can park temporarily at the door and drop your luggage before going to the parking lot. Parking is 44 pounds a day and about 37 pounds with a hotel coupon. There are actually two hotels here, one is grand and the other is cq. I booked grand but lived in Cq. I do n’t know how to arrange it. When the hotel is not busy, it is sold at 7-800, and the price is good. After all, it is close to the Thames and other attractions.
I have been travelling around UK for 3 weeks. I can’t remember how many hotels I have stayed in, but The Resident Covent Garden was the best overall. Best bed and pillows I have slept in and I have stayed pretty luxurious hotels. The reception was attentive and friendly as well as personal. It was one of the more expensive hotels during this trip but totally worth it. Location is just fantastic. Secure access both front and before the lifts were good. I will return to the hotel next time.
Everything about the hotel is very good, except the terribly soft mattress. The location is extremely convenient, whether it is the train, subway, or eating, shopping, or entertainment, it is all within a stone's throw; the service is very warm and polite, whether it is the front desk staff or the luggage porter; not to mention the size of the room and the size of the bed, which is absolutely amazing in this city center location. The bathroom is actually separated into dry and wet areas and has a dressing table, which is not uncommon in domestic hotels, but it is very rare in London. But, unfortunately, the most maddening thing is that the mattress is too, too, too soft. Although I know that Westerners like soft mattresses, and hotel mattresses are generally softer than those in China; but it is so soft that there is no support at all. My waist is almost broken after a night, and I always wake up tired at night. I toss and turn and can't find a suitable position to support myself to fall asleep again. The whole sleep quality is seriously affected. This is probably the first time I have encountered this! The originally pleasant trip was discounted because I didn't sleep well, so I was not energetic during the day... Because I had to stay for several nights, I also tried to communicate with the hotel whether the mattress could be changed or turned over (maybe the other side is harder)? But in the end the hotel just added a thin blanket for us, which didn't solve the problem at all. I felt that the quality of the mattress was totally inconsistent with the grade of the hotel. Alas! What a pity, I will not go there again. People who can't sleep on soft mattresses should be careful!
