The Hari London

I stayed in a King Premium room, which is the largest room category, felt quite small for the price and compared to other hotels in London. Service could be better. I requested turndown service and when I returned later in the evening, the dirty towels hadn't been removed, the bed hadn't been touched, and the trash hadn't been cleaned, only fresh towels were left on the bed which was very strange. The worst issue was a billing error. I had already made the full payment at check in, I was surprised to see a duplicate charge on my card while heading to the airport. The hotel had placed a second hold for the full amount of the stay on my card without my knowledge after I check out. I received no call or message from them and only after I called them did they email me with an explanation of what happened and that it was a mistake. Even though the hotel may have removed the hold, my bank still holds the funds for two weeks which is very inconvenient. It left a very bad impression.

First time staying at this property. I was in town with my elderly mother for Wimbledon and chose this property as I wanted to try out a new hotel. Prior to arriving concierge booked dinner reservations and car service to and from Wimbledon. That process went smoothly enough. Rooms were on the small side but they were clean and nice enough. Probably the smallest hotel shower I’ve encountered. Housekeeping did a great job of keeping up the cleanliness. Front desk were nice enough the first day but for the most part I didn’t find the staff to be warm or welcoming. Was never greeted verbally whenever I entered the lobby. Not even by the doormen at the entrance doors. Room service was a joke. They kept messing up our breakfast order and we ordered the same thing for the entire stay: pastry basket and coffee. Weirdly, when you dial room service it connects you to the front desk so not sure why that is. Maybe something got lost in relaying the order to the kitchen. I don’t know. We ate at the restaurant one night because we were tired from being out all day and hoped the mediocre room service food was a one off. Nope. Food was mediocre. We had to add salt to our dishes to give them any flavor. At least the waitstaff were warmer and more personable. One of the days the fire alarm goes off. I run into a staff member in the hallway and I ask her if it’s an actual fire drill. She says yes so we go down the stairs to go to the lobby. The stairwell was littered with room service food trays so we had to navigate the stairs around them. It was more than a couple of trays. It was strange. Then we run into a couple of other staff members who told us we shouldn’t be in the stairwell and tried to get us back on the elevator (which, of course, weren’t working because the fire alarm was on). They kept saying it wasn’t a fire drill for the guests. Just for the staff. Again, strange. We make it to the lobby and another staff member tells us that everything is fine. They don’t know why the fire alarm went off. He said they only have fire drills on Tuesdays or Thursdays. (I think it was a Wed or a Fri, i can’t remember) I thought to myself, wouldn’t you be more worried that the fire alarm was going off on a non designated day? Obviously it was a false alarm but not a lot of clear direction and some confusion among staff. Friday night the bar was playing very loud music. You can hear it through the walls. Thankfully it only lasted until around midnight. They could use better sound insulation. I would definitely not stay here again. For the price range they’re in, service should be better. They’re small enough to be able to provide a more personalized experience to their guests.

We visited the Hari Hotel once again, it’s been my destination for over a decade. It’s a special place but also a revolving door when special people decide to leave like Andrea. Andrea the Bar Manager, who I’ve know since he joined has decided to seek a new venue in London. The Hari will carry on, but it can only reach new heights if they retain the best people like Andrea.

We spent a week at The Hari and were very happy with our stay. The rooms are well appointed and the staff very friendly and professional. Our room had a nice little nook overlooking the park and it became a morning ritual to start each day waking up with Belgravia and drinking espresso. One thing that surprised us was that the breakfast buffet was quite simple and if we wanted a cooked breakfast, we'd have to use the restaurant or go to one of the cafes nearby. This didn't really detract from our stay, but given that hearty breakfasts are a British Hotel staple, we weren't expecting it. We will definitely be back though - we are already missing Belgravia.

We just left the Hari London and wish for others to know this is a cozy, classy and beautiful hotel. Everyone is caring and a shout out to the concierge, Chris! My husband left his wallet in a taxi and he helped us get it back. He also helped me find a chemist for sleep aids for my jet lag. What a gem.

Our stay at The Hari Hotel was great! The location, staff, facilities, food... everything was perfect. We had all our needs taken care of, from start to finish.
