Wonderful gem. They have a mildew issue on one end of the hotel. They switched my room promptly. And the service was excellent. Beautiful appointment in the room. They do add 15 pounds service charge daily to your bill (optional). A bit weird to not tell people upfront. Because the staff was nice and space very pleasant I paid it. Better to build it in to the price? Or tell one upfront. Would highly recommend and visit again.

If you like a more retro and traditional taste, you can try it
It’s very warm, and some cookies and desserts are given out every day.

The staff were all so kind and helpful - they really made the experience wonderful. The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. The breakfast was delicious.

Really special experience, very conveniently located and all the staff made you feel like nothing was too much trouble. I was only here one night, but felt very well taken care of. I recommend the breakfast, get the omelette! The air con works, which you can't always count on in these old buildings, and the smart TV has Chromecast so you can watch media from your own devices. The room was beautifully decorated which makes such a difference when so many hotels are just identical white rooms these days. I will be keeping an eye out for Red Carnation when I travel.
