The Wellesley Knightsbridge, a Luxury Collection Hotel, London

This hotel does everything right. The service is outstanding and friendly. They went out of their way to find places for us to go near the hotel and having the chauffeur service was great for exploring Knightsbridge. We have already booked our vacation there for next summer. You cannot beat the location. Right across the street from Hyde Park.

Hotel is nice but experienced a few disappointments as a Marriott Ambassador. We arrived at 14:00. Check-in time is 15:00. When I arrived I was told, my room was not ready which would have been fine except I was also told, there were no upgrades. I thought that odd because if I wasn’t being upgraded, they could give me any room in the house. I was also told it would be 45 minutes to an hour wait. My wife and I went out and while taking a coffee, I looked on line and saw the hotel were selling Junior suites (they had multiple ones available). At 15:00, when I returned, as the front desk agent was making my key, I asked if I had understood her correctly as online, there were, upgrades for sale! She quickly made a call and told me she now changed my room. Why did I have to go through all this! Not how you should be treating your highest level customer. Another issue is at my free benefit breakfast I asked for still water. I asked for this instead of the free orange juice (which cost £13.50 on the menu). The waitress brought a bottle of water and when I got the bill I was charged £7.50. The first time I have ever been given an extra charge for still water at breakfast at any hotel in the world. Lastly, no fitness room. Other than that, good service and very nice rooms.
