The experience started well: the front desk staff were friendly and chatty, very welcoming. But the rather poky room, when we reached it, smelled musty and damp and appeared to be completely unventilated. Once we worked out that - despite ferociously worded notices to the contrary - it is actually possible to open the windows a bit, things improved somewhat. The little bathroom, though, seemed to have no extraction or ventilation at all, so that steam and toilet smells build up - unpleasant. The shower worked well (but only had a curtain, not a screen), the lavatory cistern took ages to fill after flushing, and the washbasin had a star crack where someone had dropped something into it. Some of this would be forgiveable if the room were cheap, but it certainly wasn't. Fortunately the bed was very comfortable, and with the window opened we slept well. And this was a "super-room"! I wonder what the ordinary ones are like. We did not try the restaurant. Overall verdict - avoid, there are far better "budget" options available just a short walk away.
