There is a bar downstairs. I thought I went to the wrong place at first, but the receptionist was next to the bar table. But the attitude was very good. It is very close to Waterloo station, just opposite the exit.

Incredibly busy and noisy bar area, but the service was outstanding. My freshly cooked food arrived without delay and was beautiful. A couple of excellent (decent price) pints washed down my fish and chips and I left refreshed and happy. I'm in town for a couple of days, I'll probably be back.

I live very close to the hotel and only passed by as a bar guest. It was too loud inside and the service was acceptable. I ate fish&chips maybe in one third of the London pubs, and I can frankly say that Wellington’s version was far one of the best you can eat in London. A must try.

My husband and I have just returned from a two night stay at The Wellington Hotel. This hotel is in a great location opposite Waterloo Station and the main tourist attractions. Our check in was excellent, we arrived early, greeted in a friendly manner and pleased to be able to leave our luggage until checking in time of 3pm. On checking in the same man showed us to where our room was and gave us all information needed for our stay. We found all the staff to be friendly and efficient. Our room was on the first floor, room 16. Clean, large bathroom and comfortable bed. We have never stayed at a hotel where not only do you have complementary tea/coffee but also 2 bottles of water, 4 cola cans and 4 beers. There’s a really good choice for breakfast, which was included in the price of £304. After being out all day we returned to the hotel for drinks where there was a good atmosphere with piped music (not loud) and T.V screens in both bars showing sport (sound off). I would have given a rating of 5 but as there isn’t a lift at the hotel this possibly would be a problem for some. We will definitely stay at the Wellington’s again when visiting London.

Thank you so much to Mark and the excellent team at the Wellington for hosting my work leaving do and making it such a great experience for everyone (rave reviews). Can’t thank you enough guys. I was extra lucky that there was a room available (just 1!) after I missed my last train. Saved my life

Mixed experience I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, which got things off to a good start. However, there is no elevator, and accessing the upper floors requires climbing narrow, steep stairs—which was quite inconvenient, especially with luggage. The room was reasonably clean, though not spotless, and overall just okay. The furnishings and infrastructure felt quite dated—not in a charming or vintage way, but more on the worn and tired side. The bathroom was especially small and felt quite claustrophobic. On the positive side, the lobby and restaurant areas had a great atmosphere, which made spending time outside the room enjoyable. The location is excellent, very central and convenient for exploring the area. If you're looking for a well-located hotel with character in the common areas and don’t mind sacrificing modern comfort, this might be a decent pick.
