Sandman Hotel & Suites London Downtown

The tub backed up, the room smelled, yelling in the hallway in the middle of the night, parking lot was full of snow, homeless people approached us at the door. I was supposed to have one of the two nights refunded and still have not received it

Close to downtown, very convenience

It is conveniently located downtown with clean rooms, and the breakfast is quick and easy. Unfortunately, because there is a drug rehab center nearby, there are homeless near the hotel. The homeless do not disturb residents, but it may be a surprise to see this for those who are not used to seeing homeless and who may be suffering from drug addiction.

I stayed 5 days in a suite on the 10th floor and it's the last time I'll go to this place. The room was fine, but no space in the toilet, no towel rack, the toilet seat is leaning against the toilet roll, so don't move your right arm if you're sitting down because the roll will fall to the floor. The paper holder is faulty. As for the kitchen, old furniture and dirty carpet, no dishwasher for a suite! I have stayed in several hotels, including other Sandman and Sandman Signature hotels and I will avoid this group of hotels in the future.

Stayed here for one night and would not again. While the beds and most of the room was clean, the carpet was stained. Pretty disgusting actually (see pictures). While I wanted to address it with the front desk, I didn't have the time as we had to get to dinner and then an event. I decided to put a towel down on the worst spot between the beds. I did mention it at check out and they did remove the 16.00 a night parking fee (which I don't recall seeing when I reviewed this location and booked). I don't really think that's adequate compensation for this and (here is the more concerning part) the false fire alarm that went off at 1am. An employee admitted that their intercom for the hotel was broken and strangely, there was this powerful flow of air coming up from one of the stairwells that was so hard, it prevented us from opening the door to the stairwell that leads to the lobby. The other one we found (further away from our room) lead to outside where about 6 homeless were hanging out. I promptly closed that door and eventually took the elevator down. As another person mentioned, the security of the underground parking is none. Gates are broken. I have stayed at a Sandman before and this one felt like it should be a cheap no name motel. Will never stay here again. Oh, and the breakfast was disappointing. Very limited.
