I had such a pleasant experience at the Hotel Cordial Playa. It is ideal for solo female travellers. I have just returned from 7 nights stay bed and breakfast. I arrived late and was offered a complimentary drink. The hotel is big so I really appreciated a porter bringing me to my room and showing me all the facilities on the way. I like to get my bearings, especially arriving late at night. The room was spacious, even for a single occupancy. Kettle, coffee machine, good size fridge which I stocked with water, coca lights and some snacks. The place is spotless. I stayed in the Cordial Valle Apartments in February which unfortunately had cockroaches. There was not a single one spotted anywhere in 7 days. The breakfast was great. I went at around 8am. A few around not too busy. Lots on offer and as someone said previously, some good healthty options and a gorgeous fruit bar. Coffee served to the table with in big pots which I love. I stayed at the pool every day. I had plans of going to the beach which I did in Feb but enjoyed the quiet pool here so much I didn't budge. I got there at 9 each morning so no problem getting a sun lounger. The sun comes out at about 9.30am in July. By 10 it was filling up. There were some children around. It isn't adults only and most were well behaved so it was very relaxing. Pool service was great. I had a delicious cold piña colada most days!! I went to yoga at 11.15 one morning which was fine. It isn't authentic yoga. More like stretching. It would be great if they hired a proper yoga teacher as there is definitely a market there especially for solo travellers. I used the spa which I highly recommend. I had the Balinese massage which was unlike any other massage I've had before. I had 1 hour to use the facilities afterwards which is well worth it. Sauna, steam room, cold plunge, indoor pool, outdoor jacuzzi and the most wonderful floatation pool. I didn't eat dinner in the hotel. I always prefer to visit local restaurants, if you do I recommed La Cucina, N'enoteca and Namaste India. The market on Friday is also a good diversion. I went early at 9am and found the vendors friendly and easily to navigate as not too busy. It's a bit of fun! I will definitely return to the hotel in Feb hopefully!!!

This will be a long review, so strap yourself in. It was our 4th visit to the hotel. This time it was just me and my son, who turned 15 whilst there. This was recognised by the hotel by way of a card, cake, balloons and a big jar of sweets. Thanks for that. We stayed, as always, in a Solaz apartment. This accommodation enjoys full use of the hotel's facilities. We were there from 21/06-5/07. In the first week the hotel had predominantly Spanish guests. I soon discovered that they may have been on holiday for the festival of St. John, which is a big deal in Puerto de Mogán. There were singers, dancers and fireworks down at the beach on the night of the 23rd of June. The second week was more of an international clientèle. As per previous visits, we were treated extremely well by the vast majority of staff, some of whom recognised us. Check-in was swift and a cold buffet was available, as we arrived at around 11.30pm. We were greeted at breakfast the next morning by the hotel Director, José Santana, who is a lovely man. If he says he's going to do something, he will do it. Here are my observations. Firstly, the morning coffee was hot. This is an improvement on previous years. The games room is improved and has more for older kids. Sadly, the lifeguard at the family pool has moved on. His replacements are not managing the pool as well as they should. Reserving multiple sunbeds with towels for several hours and not showing up was common. Some guests were playing their own music through speakers at the family pool. This is selfish and unacceptable behaviour. There seemed to be some new animation staff. There was loud music around the pool on occasion, which resulted in an exodus. One of the new animation guys made the mini disco overrun in the evening, so that the Flamenco dancers were late to their performance. He then spoke incredibly loudly throughout their performance with his colleagues, which was disrespectful and annoying. I attended the spa twice. The first time I paid to use the magnificent facilities. My steel water bottle was stolen on this occasion. No big deal, except the bottle was a limited edition and had organisational branding on it. It is irreplaceable. The second time, I booked an Indian head massage for €69. This was overpriced, not particularly relaxing and didn't include use of the spa pool area afterwards. There was very little head massage. The pressure was concentrated on my shoulders and upper back. I wasn't offered anything to drink and had to walk back to my room, dripping in oil. Now, on to the evening buffet. This was a bit of a nightmare this year. It was incredibly busy and chaotic. Guests were shoving each other out of the way and skipping the queue for freshly cooked meat. I waited 15 minutes in searing heat for a tiny piece of chicken. The restaurant was so hot that I nearly fainted! There were staff running through the restaurant. Some of the plates were dirty and chipped. Some guests were talking on their phones an

We've been coming here since our children were small, but this is probably our last time. This is one of the best value hotels I have ever stayed in. They know their customer and cater to them. We always choose half board and then swap dinner for lunch. We then go to the harbour for dinner. It is convenient and economical or at least it was. More of which shortly. The food here is excellent and the choice is massive. It is, however, all buffet which is one reason we prefer dinner outside. More than almost any other hotel, it is very easy to eat healthily here. Yes, you can find chicken nuggets and cakes if you seek them out. But the choice of healthy yet tasty stuff is excellent. There are things that they could do better. The first year we came here, wifi was still "modern" and it didn't work very well. In 2025 internet access is essential and... it still does not work very well. Trying to get served at a pool bar is a lottery. There is often only one staff member serving and, if the person in front of you in the queue wants four cocktails, you have a wait ahead of you. You could use the time to check emails and update Insta, if only the wifi worked. The rooms are emasculate, but starting to look dated. Shower over the bath really is a thing of the past. That's it as far as criticism of the hotel is concerned. I can think of nothing more. Why is it, then, that we probably won't return? It's the area and the nearby restaurants, which have declined. The hotel is situated in what looks like a huge dystopian concrete shopping precinct. There are some shops that will sell essentials, pool toys and tat. There are restaurants that look like flat-roofed pubs transported from the UK. I don't use them there and won't here. The harbour has always been a lottery for food. But there was once a choice of pleasant eateries. Today, however, the quality almost everywhere has nosedived and the prices sky-rocketed. You will pay UK prices for poor quality food, cooked unskilfully. Wine tends to start at Euro 24 a bottle and anything that won't remove the enamel from your teeth will cost upwards of 30. It is a mystery how every restaurant can ruin what started out as fresh local fish. but they manage it, consistently. Also a mystery is why at least one restaurant doesn't hire an actual chef, and take custom from the 99% of places who appear to employ tire fitters and bus drivers to cook food. That, ladies and gentlemen, is why we won't be returning to one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in, and it isn't their fault! We don't want to be full-board and have three buffets per day and we don't want to pay to eat at their Michelin star restaurant. This is a fly and flop holiday place, not a swanky venue. So, as we hand over our room keys tomorrow I shall be very sad that we won't be coming back. It has been a truly wonderful place to be over the fifteenth or so years that we have been coming. But time has moved on, things have changed, and unfortuna

We had a private transfer from the airport which only took 1/2 hour. Arriving at 10 pm we were all tired and check in was slow but we were eventually attended to by a lovely young lady called Raquel. We were offered complementary drinks while she sorted our rooms out. A cold buffet was also available for late arrivals in the restaurant. Our room was large albeit a little old fashioned but the bed was comfy (two singles pushed together) lots of wardrobe space and a safe ( costing €2.30 per day). There was a kettle, tea bags and sugar plus a coffee machine with two coffee pods …. (replacement pods had to be purchased). There were also two complementary bottles of water. There was a fridge which wasn’t very cold and we bought milk and water from the supermarket 100 yards up the road. There weren’t many available sockets for the phones and iPads…only one either side of the bed and another under the tea and coffee making table where the kettle and coffee machine also had to be plugged in. The air con worked ok for us and was quiet. Breakfast was busy and by the time we had finished (9.15) people were queuing at the door. You could sit anywhere for breakfast . There was the usual fried breakfast and cold meats etc plus juices and fruit. The doughnuts and custard filled ones were delicious. The bacon was challenging though ….tough and like boot leather! There was nearly always a queue for fried eggs…they couldn’t seem to get enough pre cooked to stop people hanging about. There was also a queue for omelettes. Coffee was served to the table in jugs but tea was self service. There were only two toasters and as so common abroad..they were set so low that the bread had to go through 2 or 3 times to make toast, so yet another queue formed. Several mornings one of the toasters was out of service causing an even bigger queue at the only one left working! Evening meals were in two sittings and we chose the early one on our first evening by going down to the restaurant at 6.15. The second sitting was from 8.15. On our second week though they changed the times to 6.30 and 8.30. We were served by Vanesa who was nice and friendly and after being allocated a table which we didn’t like, she sorted out another one. Vanesa was also very good at remembering our drinks orders and room numbers. There were plenty of food choices and a vegetarian section but due to there being two sittings it meant that a lot of people were trying to eat similar courses at the same time….this caused long queues especially where the chef was cooking meat. Due to the queues at the meat counter it was also difficult to reach the other items such as chips and other precooked meats. The ice creams needed to be moved because the queue for those meant people couldn’t reach the other desserts on offer without pushing through the queue! On the whole we were disappointed with the quality of the meats, which were mainly tough, boney or in the instance of chicken…rather pink!! We actually liked havin

What more can i say about this beautiful hotel, we have visited numerous times and are never dispappointed, we relax as soon as we walk through the doors. Wonderful staff who are always smiling and so very helpful. We did the botanical tour of the hotel grounds this year, guided by Alex who was incredibly knowlegdeable about the plants and island and the 3 hours flew by. Thank you Alex we thoroughly enjoyed it and certainly opened our eyes to tremendous gardens. We will be back to our happy place, and would highly recommend staying. We stayed in the Junior Suite 9022 with a lovely garden that had sunshine and shade.
