Cordial Mogán Solaz

We have been holidaying here for years, booked to return February 26. Nothing too much trouble, staff friendly, special thanks to Jose, Oscar along with Jennifer and Benito. Own sunbed and terrace area, apartments have everything you want in them.

We stayed for two very enjoyable weeks in June in a one-bedroom superior apartment and also made use of facilities in the adjoining Cordial Mogan Playa Hotel. Overall we were very happy with the Solaz and would happily return in the future. We booked directly with the hotel after joining "Club Cordial" and received the discount (6 nights for the price of 7). We were also able to pick the exact room we wanted on a map!! Why don't more hotels do this? The Cordial Mogan Solaz is made up of three small blocks of apartments attached to the Cordial Mogan Playa Hotel. Each block has 5-10 apartments, with one block on the grounds of the Cordial Mogan Playa Hotel and the other two blocks just across a very quiet street next door (literally seconds from the hotel grounds). As far as we could tell, the standard (not superior) one-bed apartments are in an older block a few doors up the street and we did not see what these were like. Check in was at the Cordial Mogan Playa hotel reception. We received a very friendly welcome and a complementary drink. We had to pay a little extra for use of the safe (about €40 for two weeks which, as others have said, was a little much). After checking in, you can either walk through the hotel to the apartments or, if you have a car, drive around the hotel (and the whole town!!) to the apartments. Free, secure underground parking is available under the apartments and we found this very convenient. We stayed in a one-bedroom Superior apartment in a small block just across the side street from the back of the hotel. This is a small block of modern (ca. 2019) one- and two-bed superior apartments, each with a large sun terrace with private jacuzzi. The garage is in the basement and there is a lift to each floor. The private sun terrace for the one-bedroom superior apartments is on the roof of the one-bed superior apartments, which also have a large balcony off the living room and bedroom. The roof terrace with private jacuzzi can only be accessed by a private narrow spiral staircase, which may cause accessibility issues for some. Our apartment was exceptionally clean and serviced every day, if required. The communal areas were also kept really clean. The apartment was modern, bright and very comfortable – perfect for a two-week stay for a couple. There was also a sofa bed in the living area. Overall it lived up to the impression from the hotel website and virtual tour. The kitchen had a hob, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave large fridge-freezer and several ways to make coffee and tea. (No oven but this was not a problem for us.) Overall, it was very well equipped for a holiday where you might mix eating in and eating out. We had breakfast most mornings in the hotel (with family who were staying in the Cordial Mogan Playa). Breakfast was not too busy (low season in June) and overall good with plenty of options. There are two large pools in the Cordial Modal Playa, which residents of the Mogan Solaz can use. We felt

We are staying here atm, can’t fault the Solaz appt, hotel is very well keep, Blue Restaurant for breakfast is lovely, food good, staff very good. Main Restaurant need big changes, there is not enough staff doing the table’s service. To many staff not doing anything, waiting way to long just to order a drink with your meal….. It’s just a little frustrating

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment which was clean and modern. We loved the fact we were located in the beautiful grounds of the Mogan Playa Hotel. The swimming pools were lovely and warm. The hotel reception gave us a very welcoming greeting but when we checked out we were not asked if we had enjoyed our stay. I had assumed we would have been asked to complete a guest satisfaction form of some kind. I really enjoyed the whole ambience of the apartments and the hotel but I found breakfast to be very frustrating. The food was quite good but the plates were cold. You sometimes could not find a set table or get anyone to bring you coffee. The restaurant staff were run off their feet and I observed for most of the week the managers just stood and greeted the guests. That's great if they have enough people but they don't. They should have been helping the waiting staff, which they did on two days towards the end of our stay.I found myself irritated and annoyed ,frequently eating most of my hot breakfast (on a cold plate) by the time the coffee arrived. It must be soul destroying for the waiting staff as it is not their fault that guests like me becoming irritated. Breakfast was include and we didn't have the choice not to pay it. We really liked the Mogan Solaz and the hotel but they need more staff in the breakfast restaurant. Ian & Elaine Thompson

Just returned from at 14 days stay at Solaz (apt 106 - with 2 bedrooms). I have been to the Cordial Mogan Playa Hotel three times before, and just love the garden - and the peace and quiet. The Solaz building our apt was in, was within the hotel grounds (the other building is across the street). It seemed new and modern, and it was very peaceful. It was great to have a safe parking garage for the rental car. We only had B&B, but enjoyed the breakfasts. There are a lot of choices. (If I only could suggest minor one thing, it is to lower the backgroundmusic, which forced us to eat in one of the outside areas where it is more peaceful). We had lunch in the apartment every day, which was perfect with both fridge/freezer, dishwasher and good kitchen equipment. For a 14 days stay it was also perfect to have a washer/dryer. The people working at Cordial is very friendly and serviceminded. I will especially mention our housekeeper Aroa V. which was very thorough, hardworking and who really makes an effort to make her guests satisfied. The only minus I will mention, is that with the high prize we pay for staying there, the cost for using the safe should be included. I knew this in beforehand due to my previous stays (it is the same in the hotel), so it was no surprice for me. We also had a minor problem with the AC (the apt got rather cold when using AC, with temperatur dropping below wanted/set temp), but we ajusted our use of the AC to that issue.

Where to start! Having previously stayed at main hotel the Cordial Mogan Playa nearly ten years earlier and remembering how beautiful it was, I decided to book again for a family holiday with my partner and 7 year old daughter, it was then that I stumbled across the new Cordial Mogan Solaz adjoining the main hotel. We couldn’t have chosen any better. We stayed in Solaz 301, a stunning one bedroom superior self-catering apartment with a private roof terrace with hot tub. I’m the kind of guy that spends literally hours doing research before I book any holiday, we both work hard and needed to be sure that this was the place for us, we needn’t have worried. Upon arrival we were greeted with a friendly warm welcome at the main hotel reception in the Cordial Mogan Playa and given a handy little map that showed us how to drive around to the Solaz apartments. We had hired a car from the airport for the 12 days but if you arrived by taxi or coach then you could quite simply walk through the main hotel to the apartments. Having reached the apartments we parked up in the private and secure underground car park, this is simply accessed by using your keycard. From here we used the lift immediately next to the car park up to the third and top floor. You do have the option of using the 37 steps up, but with suitcases it’s a bit of a hike! However we used the steps most other days which helped burn off a few calories. Upon entering the apartment we were very pleasantly surprised on how modern and clean it was, in fact it was stunning. The kitchen area included a large fridge freezer, compact dishwasher, electric hobs and a very useful washing machine! Along with the usual kettle, toaster and pots pans and utensils. Nothing had been forgotten about. The lounge area had a very comfortable sofa bed which our daughter loved and a large flat screen tv mounted to the wall. We were only able to find a couple of English speaking channels (sky news and channel 4) but who goes on holiday to watch tv? The bathroom had a large walk in shower and I believe 301 has the added benefit of a window which could be fully opened to allow the steam out. The bathroom overall was very clean and equally modern. The main bedroom like the lounge area looks out onto the balcony and has its own patio doors like the lounge. Again another tv on the wall that swings around so you can watch it in bed if that’s your thing. A small double wardroom and safe were also available. Again this room was impeccably clean. The air conditioning was so quiet and we were able to adjust the temperature in both the main living area and the bedroom, ensuring a great nights sleep. Leaving the apartment by the front door there was a spiral staircase outside the that took you up to the private room terrace where we found a beautiful space and a real sun trap!
