Room a little tired and in need of some paint and a new carpet! Mattress not very comfortable and cobwebs on light fittings! Bathroom OK other than wood toilet seat chipped and ceiling above shower mouldy! Didn't have breakfast so cannot comment on food.

On arrival later in the evening around 7 pm the first issue was how difficult it was to locate. Arriving from Wakefield rather than Leeds the sign is obscured as the entrance is set back from the road. Plenty of parking available. Instructions beforehand were accurate. Lovely building from the front with added extension not in keeping with the aesthetics of the original building. Access to main building is suited to a led and disabled guests. On entry there was an overwhelming mustiness type smell like the building has been empty and cold, no heating. Communal living room, dining room and bar for guests (looked comfortable enough but I did not use these). The young man and little boy were friendly and informative when checking in, explaining everything thoroughly including the QR code to access their what’s app if you require anything in your stay. Despite having disabled access all rooms appeared to be on the first floor. I stayed in room 1 which is a double room with en suite. Clean bedding, room smelled like a man’s deodorant had been recently sprayed (quite unusual). Room itself had a window to the front overlooking car park and entrance. The old glazed windows meant that the noise from the M62 could be heard pretty much all the time (not too distracting tbh). The room was very cold and attempts to turn on the radiator failed (like the hotel as I entered). The shower was powerful enough but would benefit from a new shower head as it was limited focus and leaked. Mini fridge in the room for use albeit not plugged in on arrival, I used this and would say very good as I used it for milk etc. on 2nd night someone arriving after 11pm clearly did not read instruction as they proceeded to bang on the door for 20 mins on the front door and woke me up, I used the what’s app to text the owners who sorted this and thanked me for letting them know, a nice touch but I was now awake having been asleep for an hour :/ Lastly only after I was getting sorted to check out did I read you’re not supposed to eat in your room as it was in the booklet they provide, not great when you don’t particularly want to use the communal areas.. With a little bit of added touches these can be rectified as it’s a pleasant place close enough to both Leeds, Wakefield & Castleton well pretty much most of West Yorkshire..

The lady in reception was warm, inviting and welcoming. Even though our stay was a little last month re - everything was ready for on arrival. The hotel is a lovely boutique style with really nice communal spaces and the rooms are airway and very clean. Likewise the bathroom factories are perfectly clean. For a quick get away or something longer - Wakefield Limes serves up home from home but with the grace of space to do your thing. Will definitely be staying again when in the area

I travel to Wakefield for business 2/3 nights a week & I stayed here after a disastrous stay at Citylodge hotel, which I would steer clear from for eternity. So Limes Lodge seemed like a castle in comparison - I liked the historic building, the bed was comfortable, the room clean, good transport links & the area felt space although not close to town, but walkable. I paid £65/night. A few glitches - the noise from the M62 is very considerable if you like to keep your windows open at night, so I had to close them to be able to sleep. The bathroom was chilly one of the mornings, and I couldn't see any way to activate the radiator. When you check-out, you leave the keys in an open basket by reception - so anyone could take it & mess up the room, which you could then be blamed for later - this didn't happen, but it does seem like they need to change the way people check out. The fire alarm sounded early in the morning on my second night & the fire brigade attended and was apparently caused by a known problem with a fire door, so clearly an ongoing maintenance issue that ruined everyone's sleep. I would stay here again but be mindful of the above.

Lovely stay. Room and bathroom very clean, great amenities and professional and efficient welcome. Would recommend thoroughly. Plenty of parking. Everything required was available, plenty of power points and good sized TV. Close to local shops for anything extra needed.

We have stayed at this hotel 2-3 times previously. We were really disappointed in the hotel this time and decided we won't book again. The room (no.4) smelt of drains The lighting in the bathroom didn't work. Unfortunately we didn't have the chance to speak to anyone before we left early so we emailed them once we got home. We were offered £10 refund... We paid £82 for one night, so expected better & hoped for a mire understanding response.

Very average stay. Positives: We where very close to the motorway but when we closed the window it was very quiet. The bed was comfortable to sleep on. Negative: when we arrived we where greeted and checked in, we were given our key and told where our room was, she explained if we need anything more then we had a number to call, nothing more was said. We did not see any staff for the rest of our stay (2 days). The room had some mold in the bath / shower. We had some cobwebs on the celing that hadn't been cleaned. There was no decaf teabags, and no staff around to ask for this. On the website it said they had a iron in our room, but we could nor find this and no staff around to ask where it was. We were at the hotel for a wedding so this was quote important. There is WiFi but it is password protected, we where never told the password nor was this was not written down anywhere for us and again no staff around to ask what the password was.

Comfortable 1 night stay which gave me easy access to and from Leeds which was perfect for my needs. Very helpful staff greeted me on arrival to check in. Room very comfortable and clean. Would not hesitate to use again if needing a room only arrangement.
