It's OK, outside needs a paint and carpark needs a good tidy up, lot of weeds. Food good, staff helpful. Beautiful views. Newly tiled bathroom but looks like tiled over existing because flush with old door facings, recent carpet but about 1 Insch short, doesn't cover wood gripper, curtain pole about 3ft too wide.

After working for grey gull as a chef for a few weeks then begging refused my pay by everyone in the company, owner included I thought I’d share what it’s like. The entire menu is pre-made and frozen all from BRAKES. Even though there’s an abundance of fresh suppliers available it seems they don’t hire anyone who can do fresh food. The star of the kitchen is also another matter, I’ve worked for EHO before and I wouldn’t give the place more than a 2 star hygiene rating which means they would be shut down. I’ve witnessed the chef serve out of date chicken as well as NEVER cleaning the tubs in which food is stored, they just throw the new stuff on top. I would avoid at all costs & would rather eat from a dirty burger van in Skegness. This is coming from a chef of 12 years. BEWARE.

Went along originally just for drinks and was told it was curry night on a Wednesday. I've not eaten here before and did not expect it to be so nice. The dragon chicken was my choice for starter, and the Tikka Masala for main course. Happy to return soon. Good flavours, bit of a kick, and nice consistency in the sauces. Very reasonable for this area.

I stayed here with a group of motorcyclists for 3 nights, on the run up to us arriving we did have some communications problems with the hotel, on arrival any problems where soon sorted out by Kamal, we where made very welcome but a friendly staff and i have to say the staff where very attentive during our stay. Now lets not beat about the bush, the hotel is tired and needs some TLC some of the rooms are starting to get attention so I guess its work in progress. The hotel may be tired but it’s clean with comfortable beds and the food was very good nice touches to great old fashioned Scottish puddings and traditional fare, for the money we paid we had no complaints. It’s not pretending to be anything other than an old fashioned Scottish hotel with great staff who know how to look after you, great food comfortable beds and i would not hesitate taken our group there again.

The hotel could benefit from some TLC, however the food was good and the staff were excellent. Kamal looked after us so well, going above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Lauren was also a very attentive member of staff. Thank you both.

My partner and I were given a wowcher voucher for this hotel as a gift at Christmas. After reading the reviews we were absolutely dreading going to the hotel. It turned out to be not as bad an experience as we thought that it might be. The room on first impression looked nice. On closer inspection the mold in the shower cubicle was inexcusable. The bed was comfy and there was plenty tea, coffee and milk. All good, the room overall was ok. The hotel itself is in poor condition, past its best and is in dire need of restoration. I have to acknowledge the staff who were excellent. A big shout out for the Nepalese waiter who was first class, he could not have been any more attentive and made the stay an enjoyable experience. He deserves better than the conditions restricting this hotel. Breakfast was ok and the dinner was actually really good! The overall stay was ok, but I would not go back. Shame on the hotel group for not addressing the condition of this hotel.
