Lochailort Inn

We arrived after 7pm.in off xhamce there would be a room. We had a king size bed in very basic room for £150, breakfast included. The room amd.bathroom was clean, bathroom.basic but looked new. It was very hot day yesterday and room was extremely hot, not much can do about that! The best bit was the food. Amazing dinner and breakfast..the owner was really.rushed iff his feet, but very accomdating and pleasant. New chef and.waiter, both great! This is a great location if you are Up touring about. Really recommend this.

Popped in through a spot of lunch and was not disappointed. Lovely soup and good mushrooms on toast. I’ve been in this in many times, but not for awhile. glad to see it is keeping high standards of service and cleanliness and the food was exceptionally tasty. The cake was outstanding.

Truly excellent food, reasonably priced and much better than some of the meals we'd had in more expensive restaurants in the area. Room was clean and comfortable, if a bit basic, but we had a good nights sleep. Amazing location, we'll definitely be back. Thank you.

We recently stayed for two nights and were very impressed by both the comfort of our room and the quality of the food. The Lochailort Inn is conveniently situated on The Road to the Isles and was a great base from which to explore this beautiful area - from Mallaig to the north-west to Glenfinnan to the east. On arrival we received a warm welcome and were shown to our room on the first floor with fine views to the side of the building. Our room was spotless and the bed proved to be one of the most comfortable we slept in during the whole of our holiday touring Western Scotland. The restaurant and bar area is functional rather than flashy, but this does not detract from the delicious food which in our experience was of a very high standard. The cooked breakfasts were excellent, particularly the Scottish smoked haddock with poached eggs on sourdough toast. The dinner menu was varied and interesting (including daily specials on a blackboard), using a good range of local produce. The Cullen Skink was exceptional, while we also very much enjoyed the Scottish mussels, the perfect hake dish and the pressed lamb. We could not fault the cooking or the service. Wonderful hospitality! After visiting Glenfinnan we were looking for someone to eat. Externally it doesn’t look like much but the food was excellent and the lady serving was kind and very helpful suggesting places to visit going forward and recommending various local businesses. If you are on a trip around the west coast, I thoroughly recommend a stop here over someone in Fort William!
