Meridian Inn & Suites Lloydminster

While the hotel is nice and clean the problem I have is that they do not turn the heat on in the rooms until after 4:00 pm. This is by design and the front desk told me that is policy. So all rooms are ice cold in the winter until 4:00 pm. This is January in Canada. What kind of stupid policy is this? I will not stay here again.

The front desk staff were quite odd…and very rude too…the room was ok, parking was good…not an experience that I want to repeat so won’t be staying there again anytime soon…it is close to the three trees restaurant, which is an excellent place to establish

The good: It's a bargain. The Bad: Everything at this hotel is done at minimal standards. The building itself is paper thin so there is a lot of noise from other guests who were all being reasonable and well behaved. The floor in our room creaked. The room wasn't completely clean, there was food residue on the kitchen equipment. The fitted sheet didn't fit and came off the mattress in the night. The room itself was very worn out with multiple plugs that didn't work, loose toilet seat, broken security lock on the door, and one of the kitchen pans had a very loose handle. The air conditioner fan had a loud squeak. Water pressure is nonexistent. The breakfast buffet was out of food when we arrived and the container of ketchup packets was not clean and left you with sticky stuff on your hands when you attempted to retrieve one. All in all you can do a whole let better for not very much more money.

Easy check in. Nice staff. Beautiful spacious room. Very quiet and loved it. U get what u pay for. Cleanliness was wonderful. Lots of shopping in the area. Lots of food places to eat. Would o sodering returning in the near future. Thanks so much.

Pros - pillows were soft, room was clean, price was right, ok for one person to do a quick overnight with no need for breakfast Cons- sheets were rough and scratchy, poor water pressure and slow drain in tub, no hair conditioner or shower gel (only shampoo and a bar of soap), only 2 towels for a family of 4, disgusting breakfast (powder eggs not fully cooked, paper thin see through greasy bacon, no flavoured coffee creamer, only mirror is in the bathroom makes getting ready with a family tough.

Great stay! Friendly front desk staff. Huge room and good selection of breakfast in the morning! The location is good and near shopping stores! Will stay again for sure! The beds are very comfy plus the pillows

Very rude front desk attendant and very dirty hotel. Squeaky floor, very uncomfortable bed and not enough pressure on toilet and shower. Breakfast is very poor. Don’t stay here. Very disappointed with how they treat their customers

This is a local hotel, comparable to Fairfield Inn by Marriott, Homewood Suites by Hilton, Country Inn and Suites by Radisson. Positives: 1. What sets this hotel part from remaining 99% in the world is its device installed on each hotel room door to slow down the door closing; making it close gradually without creating loud bam sounds. For a light sleeper, this is a great and thoughtful feature. 2. Bennie who checked in me was wonderful. Bennie first listened to what I needed and offer options; also unselfishly recommended another hotel that may be more suited for my needs. After doing some research, I decided to stay in this hotel. She showed me two rooms, we discussed the pros and cons, she let me make the final decision, which I appreciate also. 3. Excellent hot shower – do take a couple of minutes to warm up 4. Super clean lobby and hallway 5. Convenient location: a gas station next door, many restaurant selections within walking distance or 1 minute drive along the main street. 6. Less expensive than Hilton or Holiday Inns nearby 7. Plenty of parking Negatives: 1. Cleanliness Issue rating 2 out of 5. A mid-size hair found along the outer surface edge of bathtub, half hidden because of mat/foot towel was placed there, covering half of it. Another short hair found on the floor of the bathtub. Three small pieces of taped-like debris laying on the toilet/plumbing cover. Doesn't seem like the housekeeping cleaned the room thoroughly 2. Missing body lotion - a standard amenities 3. Breakfast was fine, but many juice flavors ran out leaving only orange and water. If this is a Marriott or Hilton or Holiday Inn, with unclean bathroom would have only earned a 3 out of 5. The reason this hotel earns a 4 out of 5 is because of a) Bennie's honest service in disclosing potential issues and providing useful suggestions; and 2) the door stopping device that reduce the noise level is fantastic. Other info: 1. While this hotel is further way from the main street, can be quieter. However, there is an active railroad track behind this hotel, and they don't know when the train runs. During my stay, it was very quiet. 2. They have elevators 3. The room comes with a small kitchen. I did not use it so can't comment on functionality but it seemed clean. The bathroom I stayed was unclear, but if they could improve, this hotel can be a very attractive option in Lloydminister and a strong competitor against Hilton and Holiday Inns nearby. Conditional recommendation: I am comfortable recommending this hotel only when they improve on cleanliness (ie. keep up the good job in the lobby, hallway, elevator, and the room, and improve on doing a better job cleaning the bathroom.

I had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances and the front desk staff and manager were extremely understanding and helpful. I can't review the rooms since we didn't end up staying there, but the next time I am in Lloydminster this will be where I book!
