Hotel Santa Marta

Facilities: Guests enjoyed the proximity to an almost-private beach and well-maintained amenities, including a spa that received exceptional feedback. The terrace and other outdoor spaces also stood out for offering great views and a refreshing atmosphere.(based on 1 review)

I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, before arriving here, but, in short, I was impressed ..it exceeded my expectations. The reception staff were very nice, and I was given the best room (in my opinion), in its class. I really liked the large room and its amenities. The shower water went out beyond the shower screen/ If the screen was about 3 to 5 inches longer (and yes there would still be plenty of room to access), it wouldn't spray over the floor. - One would not have to mop up after every shower + After day 2, the cleaning staff realised it was only one person in the room, so then gave me one less big towel and 2 less smaller towels, which meant I had to juggle with what I had left, to mop up, whilst having some drying on the terrace. The shower has a detachable 2nd shower, but this did not work, as the dial (to turn it on) was stuck. There was no toilet brush, and no blind/ shutter, for the toilet window - It was very bright, by the loo, first thing in the morning =D ! The grounds are beautiful, and the view at the front is, of course, exceptional. The hotel's area down by the beach is very nice, with 2 pools, one for adults only (there are 2 small signs) - however this is generally not adhered to IE kids use this pool (I'm not bothered, but thought I'd mention it for readers). Currently the front photo on their website shows one pool and 2 tennis courts, but they have taken out 1 tennis court, to make room for a further pool, more loungers, and a massage tent. - This was a good idea. Carlos Alcaraz could still book the one court, when he's staying! The breakfast is awesome / a delightful lady takes you to a table / she looks like a '20's something', Penelope Cruz. I was impressed by all the options that could be in your omelette - the lady doing these all morning was a master at it. The view over the sea and hillside is wonderful at breakfast. I love the magnificent, graceful and presumably quite old, giant pine trees, on the hillside to the left. I swam for several hours in the sea and the pools everyday. The water in the pools seemed very pure, like mineral water! It was great to see some healthy and grinning fish, near the rocks. I will bring an underwater camera next time (my phone in a watertight pouch didn't really work, because of the brightness of the sun, and loss of controls through the plastic). The sea is very clear. I didn't eat in the restaurant due to the fact that I was travelling solo/ the room service was very good though/ One or two more choices would be great. It was mostly Spanish families staying here, when I was here, and quite a few kids. I didn't hear any British voices. It's a very lovely atmosphere, and I enjoyed walking around the grounds and also walking to the Jardins de Santa Clotilde nearby - these are fantastic, with views over Cala Sa Boadella (the next bay to the north). I've lived in and visited many beautiful properties in the UK and across the World, and this one stood out as one of those. It
