Aqua Hotel Bertran Park

my friends and i came to this hotel for a long weekend, i’ve broke down my review into sections as there was only one part that really let the hotel down. room / decor / cleanliness: room was lovely, hotel is decorated nicely and the hotel was kept clean. beds were comfortable. one thing i would recommend, although there are hairdryers in the room they aren’t very powerful so i’d recommend still bringing your own. food and drink: very good, we had breakfast included and it was good quality and variety, service was efficient and everything was good standard. we did notice that the ingredients of cocktails seemed to change depending on which bar staff were on shift. they were always nice but not always what you were expecting to get. location: the hotel is well situated close to shops, bars clubs and restaurants, and the beach. staff / customer service: other than one member of bar staff and one reception staff Saleh, it was the customer service of the staff that let this hotel down. i normally will tell a hotel directly if i have a problem with the service, however the hostile behaviour of the staff made me feel unable to do so. i complete understand that hotels have to have rules and agree that those rules should be respected. my issue is the manner in which those rules were enforced. we witnessed staff speak to guests in an rude and overly harsh tone which was unnecessary for the gravity of the issue e.g. jumping into the pool or drinking a drink they hadn’t bought from the hotel. it set an uncomfortable atmosphere for trying to relax on holiday. we also felt that there were different standards for different guests. we were reminded on multiple occasions again in a rude manner about quietness at night time, however we were disturbed several times by other people in the hotel being loud at unreasonable hours which staff seemed to do nothing about. we also noticed staff leave the hotel to tell guests who were on the street to stop being loud which seemed unreasonable. in conclusion, staff attitudes have let the hotel down and it will put off customers from returning. i’ve noticed that this is a common theme in hotel reviews so know it is not a me problem, it is a problem with the staff.

Hotel immaculate and rooms also, breakfast was great plenty options. Pool was good however VERY strict on some rules and even converscated a ball off 1 young boys in pool who wjwre being no trouble the whole pool wasn't happy about this the staff from bar could be quiet stern and got told turn a speaker off that was on low. Not enough loungers/chairs for how many guests they have staying. Most people spoken to said they probably would stay again due to the pool police.

Lovely Hotel, very clean, room was great, food was acceptable, grey haired Chef was a miserable bugger but all the other staff were extremely helpful. Downside, pool area was clean but too small, quality of the sun loungers was poor and there wasn't enough of them ! Hotel is in a built up area so there was quite a lot of traffic noise.
