Hotel Cala Bona

I paid extra for an upgrade to a Superior room with a sea view and was very pleased to be given room 206. The view was right over the small harbour and the surrounding restaurants. This area is a continuous hub of activity. We loved sitting on our balcony in the evening with a drink. The hotel itself is split into several blocks and some rooms have limited views or no view at all. I contacted the hotel via e mail prior to our stay and enquired about a room in the main block overlooking the marina. We also had a lovely walk-in shower and the towels were the best we have been given in all our travelling over the last 25 years! Large and fluffy towels changed every day. The meals were well cooked and there was lots of choices on offer for breakfast or dinner. We were impressed with the salmon and the roast beef dinners. At the pool area, there were plenty of sunbeds available but some were very uncomfortable as they sagged badly and were very low. Not ideal if you have mobility issues or suffer from a bad back. Pool towels are available at reception. You pat 27 euros for two and on returning them you only get 20 euros back! The meals in the snack bar at the pool were very good, although a bit pricey. One main meal will do two of you as the portions are large. The shows at night were very good but you had to be there early if you wanted a seat close to the show. The best night was the Take That tribute. If you want to go local for a beer or a meal, you don't need to go far. Across from the hotel on the corner is Smithy's. They do lovely meals and drinks with attentive service. A lot of guests are British and it is clear a lot of them return year after year. This was our first visit to Hotel Cala Bona and we will probably return. A couple of issues to consider is the cost of the Balearic tax and the long journey to and from Palma airport. The tax is nearly 50 euros for 2 for 1 week. The transfer will take 90 minutes.
Iberostar Waves Pinos Park

Hotel suitable for families with children, especially young children and babies. It has everything you need for the little ones (cot, high chair, bed barrier, toilet adaptor, kettle) and baby food is also available. The staff are also very friendly with the children and even learn their names. Our first family holiday has been much better than expected. Thanks to all the staff for making it possible.
Hipotels Hipocampo Palace & Spa
4.4/573 Reviews
Excellent hotel in a great location. Staff very helpful and efficient and choice and quality of food was first class. First time in Cala Millor, really enjoyed our break which was greatly enhanced by the Hipocampo Palace. Unusually for Majorca no problem in sourcing sunbeds at any time during the day. A first class hotel which no doubt we will visit again.

Cases de Son Barbassa Hotel & Restaurant
4.4/517 Reviews
We returned to Cases this summer for a week having been here for a week last year. The resort is simply the most beautiful and tranquil place and from the moment we arrive we are in full zen mode. The rooms are fantastic and the grounds beautiful if you like peace and serenity. The restaurant is fantastic not just amazing food but fantastic value with a set menu that is amazing and full of delicious food. All the above being said the one thing that really sets this hotel is the staff. The staff in the restaurant are amazing, thy remembered us year on year which in itself shows how invested they are in there clients. Genuinely this is our favourite hotel On the island and one of our favourite destinations in the world to just rest and recover. We will no doubt we will be back next year….get the lemoncello ready!
Protur Vista Badia
4.3/541 Reviews
We have had a Brilliant Holiday at this hotel and this this is just a brief review stating a few things that may help when planning your next holiday. 1. The reception staff are very efficient and easy to communicate with. 2. The hotel is kept very clean 3. Hotel rooms have everything you would need including walk in showers. (No cooking facilities in one bed apartments.) 4. Maids do a good job clening rooms 5 days a week. 5. The food in the main resturant is excellent quality and varied with alot of choice as well as there are 5 resturants that you can book and have sit down meal. The waiters and wattresses keep the dining room spotless. 6. The bar service was a bit hit and miss due to various reasons. Maria was superb at her job and very entertaining and made us feel welcome. Others fell well short of the standards she set. 7. There is a hypermarket just around the corner which has most things 8. The white sandy beach in Sa coma is half a mile down the road. 9. Tourist information is 100 metres from the hotel. 10. Sa coma has a few bars and shops which were even open in October and Cala Millor and Cala Bona are 4 kilometres from hotel and have even more shops bars and nightlife. 11. The manager who walks around talking to people in the resturant and cleaning is really nice and informative on various things 12. The Tui rep on site was excellent and again very helpful when we asked him a few questions regarding where the markets were and how to get there If you want to make the hotel even better and this is being really picky, please read below. 1. The entertainment at night was not brilliant and i know you have to cater for everybody but it was poor for a 4 star platinum hotel. Silent disco is not good entertainment unless you have the head phones on and the juggler kept dropping the clubs. 2. The cooks on grill in the main resturant were poor and need to be taught properly as the meat and fish were excllent quality but finished up over cooked. Simple things like turn heat down and place fish skin side down first 3 mins and then flip it. Not what they were doing. The meat on Gala night was a joke how he cooked it. The cook kept slicing the meat up and showing you how bloody it was and even the medium to well steak was chewy and i noticed alot was left on the plates. Why dont you just cook a big joint of beef and slice it up as there would be less waist. 3. The main indoor bar should always have someone serving out front serving drinks. The waiters seemed to hide away alot in the kitchen area at the back and they were very LOUD and disrespectful when the acts where performing. Infact one night i thought Pedro was the act as he was louder than the singer. Check it out at the bar area for yourself. There did not seem enough glasses as they had to wash the ones they had alot. 4. This needs checking but it was the same on all 8 days. We ate in the main resturant one hour after it opened and the hot food was nearly cold especially the paella. 5.
