Quiet and dark room.Nice big bath Comfy bed. Unfortunately the bar side was closed that week so couldnt get food or drink.

If I could give lower, I would. Arrived at 3.30 to be told rudely that it opens at 4!. Then is the bar open....no, very rude man indeed. So came back at 4, there was no one around, it gave me the shining vibes as it was very unerving, all in darkness and just a key on the top of the desk. So after waiting I made it to my room. It was the biggest mistake I have ever made (booking thst place)the dust flew up in the air as I opened the door, the smell of stale cigarettes and musty wet dogs. I booked for 6 nights as I had a hospital visits and stayed for 2 and that was torture. No food to be eaten in the room, but no food being sold so I had to eat cold sandwiches my trip. Still not seeing a soul I left early morning day 2 and I hope this helps people out as I am scared for life....run for the hills....

From the moment I arrived the staff were friendly and helpful. Location is set back from a country road so it was quiet and close to hills and mountains for walking. A few minutes drive from the main town of Llangollen it was convenient and peaceful. The chef was very helpful and able to meet my needs with small changes to the menus with ease. Room was basic but adequate and clean. Exactly what was needed for a short break.

Very clean, calm area, kettle, tea and coffee in the room, enough towels. But the postcode was incorrect, hotel reception didn’t answer phone to guide me. They were not allowing food in the room.

The room was clean and warm but dated. The shower was poor due to mixer tap heat control. Overlooked unkempt garden. Only met one staff member who was nice and polite.

Nice place
The hotel is a bit out of town and very peaceful. Lovely view of the hills.
Checkin was friendly and welcoming. Room was rather bland and slightly 1970s, but clean and well kept. Most importantly it was warm a comfortable and I got a good night’s sleep.
The bar closed very early which was a shame as I’d arranged to meet a friend at 9pm but by then all was in darkness.
I would have liked to try the £10 breakfast but had already arranged to eat elsewhere.
All in all, a good value stay in a beautiful location. I’d be very happy to return.
