A short stay as we were working at the Welsh TruckFest. The icing on the cake for me was the lovely chat and walk with the Owner Mr M! The grounds, lake, River and Spa are incredible I just wish I had enough time to enjoy these! The staff are truly wonderful, so caring and very obviously passionate about what they do. True old world charm that was simply enchanting. I left with a smile on my face, true hospitality at its best ….. and I’m really hard to please! Hope the family wedding goes well, and I will be back to enjoy rather than in a work capacity Oh to add…. Food delicious, and lots of lovely hot water!!! It’s the simple things…..

Superb The most beautiful setting, 50 acres of gardens, woodlands and water with a river, pond, lake and stream. Tranquil and uplifting just being there. Add in an excellent spa with a great pool and a tree level hot tub - from which we watched red kites, swans and other birds. The food is fantastic, beautifully served and presented. The rooms are comfortable, individual and full of thoughtful touches. The staff are kind, efficient and knowledgeable. We had a perfect three night stay and feel refreshed and grateful. The nicest hotel we have ever enjoyed. Thank you .

This hotel is exemplary in every way. We stay in hotels every week so we know when an experience is outstanding and this was. The welcome was warm friendly and efficient. The hotel feels a little like a stately home with wonderful antiquities around the place … once we had settled into our exquisite room with separate study area we had drinks on the expansive front lawn before dinner. The dining experience is something rather special. hors d'oeuvres are served while you select from the menu before being shown to your table. The owner was eating in the restaurant which is always a great sign. The food was outstanding. The whole stay was really a treat. We had only intended to stay one night as a stop on the journey to Swansea. We immediately booked a second night. This hotel needs to start a training academy to teach all the other hotels in the uk (most of whom seem to have lost their way) how to excel in hospitality. All the staff are warm friendly helpful and a delight We can’t wait to return

We recently enjoyed a three night stay at this oasis of calm in its tranquil rural setting with its excellent spa and grounds. The staff are friendly and welcoming and greatly added to our enjoyment of our stay. Dinner is of highest quality, the desserts deserve a special mention. After dinner coffee can be taken accompanied by one of the wide range of spirits available in the sumptuously furnished lounge. Or room Swan was a spacious and comfortable suite with all the expected features. I used the spa on all three mornings to have a leisurely swim to sharpen my appetite for breakfast. Breakfast is taken in the light and airy Orangery where a wide range of foods are on offer. The cooked main options I tried were well presented and tasty. The only question was when we will revisit this lovely spot again to enjoy the earthly delights on offer.

Just back from our third visit to this superb hotel and opted for the three day champagne break. From arrival to departure the staff were brilliant, the food of the highest quality and the service five star. Laura, Luke, the two Leahs, Becca, Sam and any other staff members whose names I cant remember, a huge thank you for your hospitality and great service. A lovely group of friendly, highly intelligent and interesting personalities and we will definitely return in the very near future. Finally if the ballon d`or were awarded to hotel staff instead of footballers Adam would be a great nomination.

Lovely suite in the lodge, spacious and very comfortable. Lovely friendly staff, dinner was a lovely experience. It was nice to take a leisurely look at the menu with drinks and delicious canapés in the lounge - these little touches seemed to have disappeared from most places.

Just returned from a relaxing two nights in this lovely, peaceful hotel. It’s set in beautiful grounds which we enjoyed walking around. There was plenty of choice for breakfast and we had a delicious evening meal. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, a credit to the hotel.

I booked this hotel at the last minute. My niece had already stayed here and had a great time. Along the drive, you see the grounds and they are absolutely beautiful. The hotel is lovely, a touch old fashioned, but that's not a negative. I arrived too early for check in, so the receptionist recommended I could go down to the separate spa area for a swim. The grounds are so pleasant to walk through, the building where the swimming pool is, is down by the lake. I had a lovely swim and the whirl pool with lake views was amazing. After my swim, I went back to the hotel to check in. I was met by a different receptionist, he took my bag and showed me to my room. I was in Pumphouse at the front of the hotel. I didn't expect such a lovely room. It had a living area, bedroom and a nice size bathroom. Again, the furniture is a little old fashioned, but not shabby. The bed was perfectly made by the housekeeping staff, not a crease in sight. it was absolutely amazing bed to sleep in. I had dinner, bed and breakfast. My dinner was at 6.30 pm. The plan is to go to the lounge, have canapés, have a drink and order your dinner. Then when it's ready, they take you to the restaurant. It's a 4 course menu. It's £50 if you book before you go, or £60 when you're there. All the staff are absolutely lovely and the service you get was first class, like the food. After dinner, I was shown back to the lounge with my latte and petit fours, overlooking the stunning scenery. The breakfast was a great spread. There was everything you could want. I saw laverbread on the menu, which I had to have, but it wasn't laverbread as I know it, it was dry like stuffing, disappointing. I booked to use the spa before I arrived. There's lots of choice. I chose the mini spa morning that included 30 minutes treatment, use the facilities and lunch, either in the hotel or at the spa. After my breakfast, I walked to the spa, the receptionist checked me in and gave me a robe, mules and a towel. I was taken to the spa where I had a back massage, which was absolutely gorgeous, but far too short. After that I relaxed by the pool and went in the swimming pool, which is a lovely pool and not too deep. After the spa, I went back to the hotel for my lunch. There is quite a lot of choice of sandwiches or afternoon tea, I chose coronation chicken. While I was waiting, the owner came over as I was asking about the history of the hotel. I was given a pack which showed what it was like before it was a hotel, which was fascinating. I would definitely stay again. The staff are so friendly and will do anything for you. The food was really good and the scenery is stunning.
