Not a good experience for me as a senior citizen looking forward to a 3 night stay at this hotel. I didn't even manage to stay one night before deciding to cancel my holiday and return home. The problem was the heating, or rather lack of it. Despite the weather turning cold, the heating was on for just about 4 hours in the evening. By 11pm my room was already very cold and by 1am it was down to 7 degrees. At that point I packed up and started a 2 hour journey back home. Apparently this hotel turns the heating off altogether from around 9pm, unlike every other I have visited. (Hotel guidelines generally recommend maintaining a minimum room temperature of 18.5°C to ensure guest comfort and well-being. This guideline is particularly important for overnight stays, especially for vulnerable individuals like those over 65) But it's all my fault because apparently I should have woken the owner up and asked for the heating to be turned on. Silly me, I'm just a daft old pensioner, never gave it a thought that I should go around disturbing people in the middle of the night. Anyway, expensive lesson learned. Next time I book into a four star hotel I'll make sure I've checked that they will keep me warm & comfortable before they get my money. Also, the hotel's own website advertises that the room I had booked included a spa bath, and shows a photo. Reality was the bath was not a spa bath.
