After forgetting to cancel my booking of a one night stop over and explaining via text of my wife's problem and my head being all over the place with getting carers sorted I travelled over to the place the next day to again explain why and said I would pay for the loss of the booking which I did on my credit card thinking this was now resolved as she had not lost any money. After two weeks I received a text cancelling all my booking for the rest of the year. Making it worse for me knowing in 48 hours my wife was going to Hospital. She is a nasty peace of work and has NO feelings when you are at your lowest but still takes money from you when you offer to put it right KEEP WELL AWAY FROM THE PLACE

A lovely friendly welcome from very accommodating hosts. Bright fresh room, no traffic noise, excellent wifi, well stocked tea tray with fresh milk and including the most excellent coffee bags. Delicious food - the breakfast was one of the very best I have ever had, as not only were the ingredients absolutely delicious, they were carefully and perfectly cooked, and served on a hot plate. Being a huge fan of the English cooked breakfast I both recognise and appreciate an excellent standard. There was also the most gorgeous home-made marmalade (as well as the selection of cereals etc. one normally expects).

Warm greeting on arrival after ealkinh on Offas Dyke from Welshpool.. This ex Pub, The Golden Lion, has been run by the couple for over a decade. The rooms were quiet, furnishings fine if somewhat dated, good supper and substantial good quality full english breakfast. Choice of bottled beers wirh Supper. Would stay again. Our host was very helpful in explaining where the nearest shop is to make a packed lunch (comprehensively stocked Waitrose Daily in the Esso petrol station - 200 yards away, not where Google maps says it is!), and details of the world heritage Limestone kiln in the next village, not to be missed. Great location for us as it is right on the Offas Dyke path.

Very close to Offas Dyke. Honestly couldn't fault the breakfast, not just variety but well cooked and presented. The flexibility and helpfulness of the hosts was lovely. Wonderfully clean. The twin room we had was very spacious. Great coffee sachets in room with daily little flasks of proper milk.

We had a twin room which was very spacious and comfortable. Nice tray of drinks and snacks. Very welcoming hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Great breakfast, with an excellent choice. On the Offa`s dyke path, so handy for walkers. A lovely place to stay.
