We've stayed at Palé Hall for a weekend over Halloween and absolutely enjoyed everything about our stay! From the moment we arrived, we were swept into a world of timeless elegance and serene luxury. This Victorian mansion that is located in the heart of the Welsh countryside, is more than a hotel—it's a sanctuary of refinement, warmth, and unforgettable experiences. Dining at Palé Hall was impressive. The tasting menu was a symphony of flavors—locally sourced, artfully plated, and served with impeccable attention to detail. Personally we want to thank the staff for making us feel so welcome, they have attention to detail and could not be any friendlier!

From the moment we arrived, the whole team at Palé Hall made us feel so welcome and relaxed. Every detail of our stay was taken care of with genuine warmth and care. A special mention must go to Shaz in the restaurant – her joyful enthusiasm and incredible helpfulness truly elevated our experience. She made every meal feel special and added such a personal touch to our stay. Palé Hall is a beautiful place, but it’s the people who make it truly unforgettable. We can’t wait to return!

My wife & I stayed for just one night with our 2 kids. The hotel is in a nice spot, the grounds, rooms, and the building itself is really well kept (albeit a bit eccentric); but the lack of process and service when checking in, attending dinner and even checking out, means there’s a lot lacking in comparison to a real 5 star hotel. The price means that you expect the basics to be in place, but it feels more like staying over at someone’s grand house than an actual hotel - this is down to the lack of direction & service from the staff, and the basics just not being in place. There seems to be a real lack of professionalism and a lacking of senior staff who should take responsibility of certain processes. Upon arrival the reception desk was empty, the explanation (or lack of) around parking, what is available on site, what the hotel layout is, what the situation with dinner/breakfast is, was pretty much non-existent. The service was good but there are clearly not enough staff, so it’s short in supply. Whether at the bar, or having breakfast, it’s hard to get someone’s attention because there just aren’t enough people. The saving grace is the food. The food was absolutely excellent. The similarities between a Four Seasons, Glen Eagles, or even a Cameron House, are plain to see in the aspiration - but sadly it’s way off being anywhere near comparable. It’s no good having a Ferrari on display at the front of the hotel if inside it’s more akin to a Peugeot. Nice, but wouldn’t rush back (yet) - need more staff & better service to justify the price.

We were so well looked after — huge thanks to Gareth, David, Jules, and Paul for making our stay truly special. You all went above and beyond, and we really appreciated how well you took care of us. If you’re visiting, don’t miss the food in the pub — it’s fantastic.

Hotel is located in a great location, surrounded by beautiful countryside and its own extensive grounds. Only dropped in for a drink, but the hotel has been stylishly renovated with old, mixed with modern features (ground floor restrooms, particularly funky!). Really nice lounge bar area, in an old hunting lounge style was really nice place to spend some time for a drink. It was also firework night on the evening of the visit and the hotel had set up some great firework night stalls and features as you came through the hotel drive and front courtyard. Definitely go back for an overnight stay some time to really enjoy the place.

4:50pm Sunday 12/10/25. Whilst driving through a 20 mph in Llangedwyn, Powys a Range Rover sped up behind us , tailgated us then overtook 2 vehicles doing 20mph and flew through the village before overtaking a Tesco van and accelerating away into the distance at speed. Rangerrover had pale hall in big letters on the boot . Awful driving in built up village . Reported to police .

We visited for my mum’s 85th birthday.. 3 generations.. 1 twin & 1 king room. We had a fabulous stay. From the second we arrived we were treated like royalty visiting Downton Abbey!! Suitcases whisked away, car valet parked, my mum was upgraded as it was her 85th into a STUNNING bedroom suite, a Happy Birthday message, sweets & card & all our specific requests were met .. step in shower for her, twin beds for us. We were chauffeured free of charge in a Bentley to the hotel’s off site pub (we’d had a large lunch in Abersoch & didn’t want a big dinner) by the super friendly & helpful Gareth & enjoyed a delicious meal. Breakfast was fabulous & for the luxury, interior beauty & quality of staff & food Pale Hall is very good value for money. Old school excellence with style. Thank you.

We received a voucher from our family to celebrate our golden anniversary. However when we arranged our overnight stay the hotel had new owners. We were very disappointed with the food & room for the amount charged. Also Sunday lunch no longer available so we had a bar meal which was nice but expensive for amount charged. All staff were excellent but they are obviously at their employers behest.

Really enjoyed the experience of Palé Hall. The building, the grounds the excellent staff. All very good. However the food was not great. Ate from The Huntsman menu and the starter of charcuterie wasn’t great and the homemade pickles were incredibly acidic. The burger was overcooked and dry. My husband enjoyed his meal, but we felt it overpriced for what we had. Breakfast was okay, but nothing special. Sadly the quality of food was less than we had hoped for.
