We stayed here in our motorhome. Had a couple of drinks and food. Best meal we’ve had for ages. The owners are super friendly. The meal was a stew in a bread loaf with veg and chips. The portions are massive so you will not leave hungry! A really cosy pub

We are staying just up the road from this Inn and had it on our list as a place to go as it is dog friendly but sadly we couldn’t even get inside as there is no wheelchair accessible entrance, looks great from outside but so many steps at every entrance 😡🥲

1 night stay with two dogs Lovely welcome when we arrived, made to feel very at ease and our dogs were welcomed instantly which is extremely important for us. A few drinks outside at the back of the pub in the sunshine (there are extra car parking spaces at the back) before heading into the bar for an evening meal. The food was brilliant, the steak was the best I've had in ages! It was quite busy as it was Friday night, but we felt looked after throughout the entire evening. We both had 3 courses, and all 3 were delicious. Lots of people in eating and drinking, it obviously is a popular place with locals and tourists alike. The bedroom is basic but I'm not sure what people would expect from a building that is over 300 years old!! It had an en-suite, it was clean, and the bed was comfy. What more could you ask for? Breakfast in the morning was great too, as there's only a couple of guest rooms you really do get looked after. Continental options are available alongside traditional hot breakfast items that are made fresh to order for you. A massive thank you to the owners and staff, it was the perfect place to stay the night for us and our 2 dogs.

Really welcoming, very dog friendly and lovely owners. Made a big fuss of our border collie and the steak was cooked to perfection. We come to North Wales a couple of times a year from South Wales and we’re so glad to have found this lovely pub, highly recommended.

Very homely, down-to-earth, welcoming real-ale inn, in a spectacular setting. Nothing too much trouble; allergies and late check-ins catered for, even sorting out a late meal. Was there for work, but will definitely come back with hubby and dog for north wales break.

Found this by surprise as our hotel were not serving food on Monday and Tuesdays, the days we happened to book. So when we stumbled on this place 4 miles away, we were very happy. We were greeted by the landlord who was a lovely chap. We ordered food and was pleasantly surprised as it hit the spot, tasty and filled our empty stomachs. The company was good in the other patrons and a lovely evening was well spent. A place of character, food and drink and anything else is a bonus. We found the staff really attentive and lovely.

Good point: The shower worked fine Bad point: The shower had a previous guest's hair on the wall and the bathroom looked like it had been last decorated decades ago. Good point: The bed was clean and reasonably comfy Bad point: Wifi was not available in the bedroom even though a router was just outside the door. It worked in the bar. Good point: The breakfast was good, served by someone who knew how to give a good service Bad point: The breakfast room was a tip, with a really dirty old bench to sit on and a piece of string on the unclean carpet waiting to be picked up, very off-putting. Good point: The dinner in the bar was fine if not exceptional Bad point: The bar was staffed by someone, who looked like they ran it, who was waiting for requests for service whilst watching a noisy film on his laptop in the corner of the room, I could hear arguments between him and the other "host". Not a welcoming feeling. Overall this would have been okay in 1980, but not now. Not worth nearly £100.
