The hotel is well situated and within walking distance to the sights and shopping areas. The hotel currently has external renovations and scaffolding although no work goes on over the weekend. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel doesn’t quite have the same chic style or decor of other Indigo’s we’ve visited; this one looks tired and in fact shabby! Our room was a sorry state and needs a major refit! Floor laminate lifting, walls dirty, curtains filthy and furnishings dreadful! The bed, however was comfortable and we got a good sleep albeit you can hear the other occupants walking the floors, banging of doors etc. The reception area & bar at back where breakfast is served appears to be used by non-residents too so can appear busy, especially the bar in the evening. On entering the hotel in the evening we were approached by a young man who just said in an aggressive tone ‘what’s your room number’; whilst he had paperwork in his hand, he had no uniform and afforded no pleasantries of even a ‘good evening’. I’d suggest if he is doing a security check then a name badge or uniform would be good and at least provide guests with an explanation as to why he needed to know our room number. We felt like we were about to be mugged as he behaved thuggishly. Would we return to this hotel……sadly No!

Great location, well furnished apartment. Would recommend and use again for a shopping trip or night out to Liverpool. Great value vs others in the area.
Marked facilities low as it's an apartment so no on site facilities, however, parking was really easy and perfectly located and the apartment was fully kitted out.
The staff on site were really friendly and helpful.

We are in the middle of a 2 night stay here, with no complaints so far. The room is large and contains all amenities - there is a cafetière if it interests you to bring your own ground coffee. Rooms contain a fridge, combi oven and 2 hobs and all kitchen equipment so that you can prepare your own food. Everything was clean and well serviced. Breakfast is complimentary if you don’t want to make your own, with a good selection including full English and continental options. I booked this hotel due to not wanting to be in the centre of town and it was a great choice, really close to Albert docks and an easy walk to Liverpool one and the restaurant quarter. Car park does have columns but being used to city centre parking it was no bother - the spaces are absolutely fine. Staff are really friendly and will happily accommodate you - somewhat unusual for an English hotel! Thank you Staybridge Suites, a lovely base to explore Liverpool.

Nice breezy walk over at the dock, not too far from OneLiverpool, the shopping and easy access to find food. Staff is moderately friendly. In room amenities is of average but the basic is there. Was disappointed that my in room safe were not functioning. WiFi connection is good, never disappoint me as this is one important factor that I believe is for everyone in this era. Overall, value stay and would recommend if anyone looking for stay.
From the minute we arrived at the Holiday Inn Express Liverpool - Central and until we left we found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. Great reception on arrival by Jess, attentive and the warmest of welcomes. As an IHG Diamond member received excellent recognition and enjoyed excellent welcome amenity benefits. The room was a reasonable size on the 6th floor but with no view only of the adjacent building, well designed, sparkling clean with good amenities. Had a great nights sleep, blackout curtains, soundproofed and a very comfortable bed, plush duvet and pillows. Nice bathroom with plenty of toiletries to use, spacious walk-in powerful shower. Holiday Inn Express Liverpool- central shares the building with The Halyard Liverpool a Vignette Collection IHG hotel, we enjoyed having access to The Halyard Bar and Voyagers Restaurant. Holiday Inn Express hotels serve a complimentary express start breakfast also a grab and go option included in the room rate, normally it's just the basics but here it’s the best, the selection was very generous, well presented and high quality. This hotel is excellent value for money, spotless, modern, efficient, with a lovely fresh hot breakfast and a fantastic shower. All the staff should be really proud of the great hospitality they provided. Recommend parking at Mount Pleasant carpark it is less than a 10 minute walk from the Holiday Inn Express Liverpool - Central and costs only £5 per 24 hours. We are looking forward to returning. Thanks.

Clean hotel and accessible to centre. If you’re going to book for Rooftop make sure it’s suite room as the double room wasn’t that nice view in the balcony. Friendly staff in the breakfast area and to the receptionist who assist us 10th July 2024 (Wednesday) at 15:00 he’s approachable and accommodating I forgot his name he has tattoo. But a bit disappointed. Only continental breakfast you can have it if you’re in a hurry. But for hot breakfast you need to order in the menu and that’s the time they prepare it and serve for you I suggest it’s better everything is ready and hotel guest will just get it by themselves. Second one the receptionist who’s on shift at 11th July 2024 at 12:30 in the afternoon wasn’t that nice. it’s 2 ladies receptionist I pass the key on her and she just said thank you. The other lady just look at us without saying Hello. Front-desk receptionist should be accommodating. not even bother to ask us how’s our stay which should be standard to all Hotel service staff. Receptionist are the front one who promote your Business it’s just my opinion Halyard so I think it’s better to inform them.

With its large rooms and high ceilings you could tell this hotel once was very grand place to stay but it is now rather dated and not the cleanest. However, it did the job for a night’s sleep following watching Liverpool win 2-0 against Villa 🎉 and was really a handy location because it is just around the corner from Liverpool Lime Street Station.

Checked out this morning as I had an appointment at Liverpool Hospital, beds were very comfy and the Hotel was very welcoming, lovely fish aquarium in the lobby which was very fitting with the theme. Breakfast was great with very lovely food and lovely wait staff, in particular a lovely tall brown haired girl, I forgot to ask her name, stood and had a conversation with me then gave me directions to the hotel and offered to call my taxi for me. Would recommend to any weary travellers looking for a good nights sleep and a lovely cooked breakfast.

Outstanding
GGuest Userwe came back from an event approx midnight. asked for 2 glasses of red wine at the bar. staff member offered us a number of bottles . we picked one, she opened it. then the duty manager turned up and said that this wine wasn’t available by the glass only by the bottle. ( which was £55) we explained that we were offered this option by the bar staff but he still said no. bar staff then had to put the cork back in the bottle. we asked how they could do that when it could only bought by the bottle and no customer would buy a bottle of wine that had already been opened. no change. out of courtesy to the bar staff we agreed to pick another red wine. turns out they only had one glass left of that one and no spares . therefore we ended up with our 3rd choice option. this all took 45mns from order to serve. some of the worst hotel service we have ever had.
YYUANLONGTraditional English breakfast has grilled sausages, potato cakes, etc. The location is a bit off the beach but it doesn't matter if you hit Uber. The parking lot is at the door. The outside of the hotel looks average. After entering, the lobby is very design. There is a bar on the first floor, and there is a small river next to the bar.
GGuest UserAll ok except assigned a disabled room for no,reason. All bathroom fittings low level to accommodate wheelchair users which were difficult to use if not in wheelchair also the water tap for showere was very stiff and virtually impossible to turn, off when wet. Room service food very limited due nil chef. Parking worked well but was an extra cost I wasn’t expecting till just before arrival.
GGuest UserGreat centrally located city hotel. Clean, modern and friendly /helpful staff. I received a lovely welcome message from the General Manager and Operations Manager as were were part of the Wedding Group. There was a nice touch as we received a mini bottle of Liverpool Gin to drink or to have as a takeaway souvenir. Breakfast was ok except the coffee machine broke down. Luckily we could get a coffee from the bar. Some feedback - it would be good if the hotel could invest in a proper Italian barista coffee machine as some of the guests do not like Nescafé type coffee! A proper coffee with coffee beans and made at the time is much appreciated !
GGuest UserFantastic location.
Faye upgraded our room my son was over the moon with the facilities.
Faye was manager but also front of house.
Faye ordered our taxi straight to Anfield, Faye also gave us the local taxi number.
The room we had the skyliner had a massive bath that needed filling but only by members of staff. I rang at 00:00 and they filled it for our arrival back at the hotel.
Plenty of towels.
Would definitely recommend to families, singles and couples.
KKennedy83Firstly the bad points-
*The Carpark was full of old furniture from the hotel and empty beer barrier preventing you getting parked,
*The hotel has turned into more of a party venue hotel rather than the beautiful hotel it was when I last came with my daughter 2018.
*tap in the kitchen area in our room only let out hot water and unfortunately the room stunk of what I could only describe as a sewerage smell? Whether the drains needed maintenance I’m not sure but I I just sprayed some deodorant around to help make it not smell quite as bad because I was so tired I didnt want to have to swap rooms.
*There was also no phone to call reception which I found strange and the remote for the tv was missing the back of it.
I put all this bad points down to the fact that when I previously came it was owned by someone who really cared about the maintenance and reputation of the hotel but now I’ve found it’s since been sold it seems the new owner isn’t as bothered and all what the shankley represented before eg, maintenance, luxury, football themed has kind of turned more into a tacky themed hotel and doesn’t feel classy anymore. I’d probably not stay here again as it’s not the same as it was and just the whole feel of hand hotel is different. It’s not the best if you have come with kids as there’s lots of drunken guests in the hotel and it’s noisey but thank goodness it’s a large hotel as you don’t hear the noise from downstairs. We were on level 3.
Our room was lovely and big with a large double bed and 2 twins pushed together, a kitchen area with tea bags and coffee (no biscuits but that didn’t bother us as we had snacks with us
The upsides were-
*Staff were pleasant,
*breakfast was amazing with everything you could possibly as for,
*hotel was mainly quiet on the 3rd floor, room was on the whole clean and had a hair dryer, iron and ironing board with a safe.
* . The bathroom was lovely especially the bath as it was a jacuzzi with a waterfall shower. Everything was clean from what I could see.
GGuest UserIf you want to conquer Downtown Liverpool by foot this Hotel is your perfect base camp. Located on Mount Pleasant the is a sight to reach whithin walking distance in all directions. The rooms are kept simple, but have everything you need. The staff is friendly and helpful, and although most of the guests are young travellers it is a quiet place, so you can have a good nights rest after your days on the streets of Liverpool. You should definitely start your day with a breakfast in the very uniquely furnished Restaurant/Bar. You'll be greeted by the most lovely Denise, who will fulfill your every wish. And while enjoying your coffee and planning your day you should ask her about the poins of interest wihtin the city. She may also provide some interesting facts about the histoy of the building you are staying at... you'll be surprised.
GGuest UserCity Studios, Rodney Street, is an excellent location in Liverpool - easily accessible for cultural and city attractions. The system for gaining access to the property worked well, in that the access codes came in good time and were fairly easy to use. The studio was lovely and warm, comfortable and clean, with good kitchen facilities. The only thing wrong was that the shower didn't work, although there was plenty of hot water. As we were only staying one night, we didn't ask for help with this, as we only found out quite late in the evening. If we'd been staying longer, we would have contacted the help number, and I'm sure something would have been done about it. We would use this venue again.
LLisaPeach23Disaster. Rooms were far from clean with very few items stocked. No mugs at all. All surfaces were dirty. Windows/blinds didn’t work and a huge hike up stairs with large bags. Couch filthy. My elderly parents were in a room with the living area in the basement which stank due to the shower leaking and the carpets were soaked. Their room was on the Main Street with people smoking & drinking directly outside. Customer service woeful - zero communication or help with check in and over two weeks later we are still waiting for 250 pound security deposit to be returned. Completely unacceptable and we are having to chase daily.
VVadim ZahharovPlace was exactly as advertised. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth staying if your trip is short.
As for downsides, hostel has limited number of bathrooms and showers - this can cause issues if you have to leave quickly. The ventilation in rooms is basically non-existent, and rooms house up to 10 people, so I’ll leave the air quality to your imagination. Sound isolation is not great, so if somebody has a good time in the kitchen you’ll going to hear that. Bring earplugs if you are light sleeper. Cleanliness is subjective, I’m not that picky, but having crumbs in my bed was disconcerting. Some sinks have filters with hair in them. Haven’t seen anything that would be actually harmful like mold or hygiene products, so that is good.
Location is good. Liverpool is not that big and you’ll get to city centre in under an hour even with most leisurely pace. Do visit the cathedral on your way there. I haven’t seen any shops in immediate vicinity though, but I didn’t need them, so maybe you find some if you look. Bus stop for airport is fairly close, so that is a plus as well.
Overall, this is a hostel. You can sleep there, store your stuff and maybe have a chat with interesting people. Price is fair for experience.
