Few people eating but took an hour to serve. Prawn cocktail was tiny served in a glass with the diameter of a test tube. Steak was very tough, sold as sirloin but was stewing steak. Leek pie dry with hard pastry, def worst dining experience of the year

This establishment was very welcoming rooms were very big and comftable bed unfortunatley 1 negative point unknown as to the problem but wasx was the wait for the food in the evening despite it not being busy when attended arrived at the table for around 19:10 waited approximately 45 mins for the meal. However on the posorive side breakfast the following morning was amazing very hot and delicious. On departure from the room we did notice on the floor loads of dead wasps on the landing and on the stairway unsure what had gone on. There

Beautiful old pub,then we walked in to rave soundtrack playing extremely loud. The barmaid was attentive and took our order for food and drinks promptly. Then the wait began,with around 8/10 customers already eating we awaited our food. We were never updated on the now 25 minutes delay. I engaged with staff,to be told that we are next one out. A total of 40 minutes from till to table. No apology,no check that food was ok? The food was average at best,40% discount was main factor for choosing the venue. But not factor for returning to the venue. One member of staff was extremely vocal and acting like she had come straight from Creamfields dance festival. Laughing and brushing out her hair at end bar as if she was still partying. Totally bizarre!

My partner and I visited last week for a few drinks, and I wasn’t quite sure what to order. Jess recommended the espresso martini, and it was honestly the best one I’ve ever had. Her recommendation and the beautifully made cocktail really made our evening special. A big thank you to Jess for her warm service and the perfect drink!

My son and his now wife, had their wedding reception here on Thursday afternoon. From the moment I booked it, Stephen, the manager has been fantastic. We had family come up from Portsmouth who stayed over for 2 nights. They couldn’t praise the hotel and bar staff enough. Nothing was too much trouble for them. An absolute credit. Can’t recommend the Childwall Abbey enough. 👍

Lovely and quick service, with very friendly staff especially Lauren and Tesfa, making us feel every welcome. Good drink selection as well. Will definitely visit again and would definitely recommend to others to visit. 10/10 would recommend
