Literally the kindest, most helpful service of our entire UK trip so far. While Northerners are always lovely, the Staff at Lock and Key was beyond. Great location, too!

perfect hotel for our recent visit to Liverpool myself and my mum. from the outside the hotel doesn't look much but when you walk through the door wow. spacious, gorgeous decor amazing staff could not have picked better. so close to town centre but still so quiet at night.

Friend booked hotel for a birthday treat when we were going to see Diana Ross in Liverpool. Staff were the friendliest and most helpful I’ve ever met. We were able to move rooms as it was an extremely hot weekend, to a cooler one and provided a fan. Bed was huge and really comfortable. Shower was hot, room was spotlessly clean. Would recommend and hope to return.

Beautiful rooms. Very spacious. Would definitely recommend. Man on reception was so helpful and explained the local sight seeing attractions without us asking. Really nice stay.

Good location. Friendly and helpful staff. However.. The room was tired and run down. Far too hot, had a fan but was very loud. Had to sleep with the windows open, very noisy outside from the early hours. Poor room facilities, no dressing table or vanity mirror, seats not fit for purpose (unsteady when sat on , and dirty). Table provided, broke twice! Tea and coffee facilities were poor and lacked choice. No phone to call reception. Uncomfortable bed, 2 singles pushed together, huge gap in between. Entrance to the bathroom was unsafe, over hanging tile on the floor.

While we expected to pay more for a city centre boutique hotel in the night Bruce Springsteen was in town - we didn’t expect to feel as done out of £250 as we were! When we came to check in at 3pm our room wasn’t anywhere near being ready (apparently the maid was only just making the bed) and the person who went to check didn’t have a clue when it would be finished. I mentioned that we were expecting to be able to check in at 3pm as we had plans - the flash of attitude from the receptionist was unimpressive! We were allocated a different room - then we got to the room - the TV already had cracks on it and the bathroom is suffering from water damage as there is nothing to stop the water from the shower leaking everywhere! There was also mold at the bottom of the shower which could have done with a deep clean to remove! Decidedly unimpressed!

We booked online for myself and my 13 year old son we specifically asked for 2 single beds and upon arrival was told they only had a double room with one bed this wasn't good my son is a big lad they also stated this has happened before with two grown men ???? So they havnt resolved the problem the room was fine but the next problem was it just kept filling with flys my son had autism and wouldn't rest until I had got rid of them all night sorry but this is not acceptable 2 stars to top it off I've come outside and got a parking ticket nowhere to park and though I was in a safe bay Turns out it's only for taxis scam

We've just had a super couple of days in Liverpool. The Lock and Key is literally 10 mins walk from everywhere- the staff here are really friendly and helpful, we had room upgrade (thank you!) Big and spacious, 2 very welcome fans in the room as we were lucky with great weather. Lots of hot water for showers. I slept great with my earplugs in (I take them everywhere!) There are loads of shops, restaurants and bars around, all reasonably priced unlike some other big cities with their inflated prices. We felt we were abroad, lots of the cafes with outside seating. The Catholic cathedral is worth a visit, pretty spectacular! We didn't feel we had enough time to explore all this city has to offer and are already looking forward to coming back

Really lovely hotel, perfect location in Liverpool with parking just round the corner (pre-book, as we didn't and it was more expensive!). Very quirky in the room, basic bathroom, bed was very comfy! Only had one issue and it was that the radiators were on full and could only be turned off by someone coming into the room and doing something to them with a spanner, bless the receptionist coming up to our room and doing it twice and with no luck then brought us a fan all the way upstairs so I didn't melt during the night! She was lovely. Definitely recommend if you want to be in central Liverpool!
