"Booked for two nights to go to Beamish museum . Travelling by train. Walk , part uphill to Castle takes about 30 minutes from the station. Uber £ 8 bus quite complicated.  There is a bus from town centre to the hotel  but it’s quite complicated suggest if unable to walk book a Uber. Bus  from town centre to Beamish entry very easy,  £2.50.  Now for the Castle itself. You can’t help falling in love with the quaint and worn castle the ‘worn’ being part of its attraction. We stayed in the stables in an upstair room. Stairs are quite narrow with small landings so  not suited to those with hip and calling difficulties. Bed , bedding and bathroom immaculate and very comfortable. Room very peaceful with early waking of bird song. Bathroom had a separate magnifying mirror which was very much appreciated. Down side was the dust on the beams over the bed hence the lower score for cleanliness.  Now for the breakfast and restaurant service. Faultless. Food of the highest quality with service to match. Breakfast matches the London 5 star ratings.  Overall this hotel was exceptionally good value and a place we plan to visit again. We highly recommend this for anyone visiting Beamish who appreciates high quality food, something a little different, peace and quiet who enjoys a lovely bath."

"We went to Seaham with the kids for the glass beach and this was cheap and really really clean which was very good plus the bedroom for us was ample. The food was just outstanding especially the ty restaurant X the kids loved it and the staff was friendly, helpful x thankyou 🥰 xx"

"We booked the room for a wedding. The wedding was in the hotel and the food was great. The young man behind the bar was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and warm. The reception staff checked in with the cleaning team and we were able to check in a little earlier."

"Good hotel; great price and room was as described. Did not partake in the breakfast as for the price we preferred to bring our own. Easy check-in and check out with friendly service. Carpark was more than large enough. Bathroom included wall-mounted bodywash and soap, as well as small bottles. Excellent value for money; would stay again."

"Great spa, great food at Fusion, and great service throughout the hotel. Good size room, but a bit dated (classic double). The safe didn't work in the room. There are too many lamps. Four in total. It would be good to have one bright light source. We will visit again."
