Holiday Inn Express & Suites Atlanta East - Lithonia

When we arrived there was no body in the front desk so we had to wait like 5 minutes to check in. Next day we asked for towels since there were only 4 (we were 5 in a room for 6) the lady said I don’t have any available. Later I requested in the front desk, nothing happened. Breakfast time is listed 6:30-9:30 so we went at 8am, there was cereal but no milk, they have tea but no hot water, no coffee. I asked the front lady if they will bring milk and she replied “we don’t have, there is chocolate milk” so I explained “I know but is for cereal and she just said well that’s all we have”. Next day not even the coffee machine. The floor was dirty and the strong smell of ********* invaded the hallway. The elevator had a problem in the second floor, we thought that is was broken and we’ll be stuck in there. Certainly a really bad experience.

I had a pre-paid trip and once there $50 incidental fee was taken out (That's fine),but within 15hrs another $146.94 was charged from this same hotel. The sales manager denied making the charge and requested that I wait for the bank's processing (which I showed him) to be finalized. Little did I know that it was the start of a COMPROMISED card with charges from PUBLIX in Savannah,OpenSkyyInc. in MD, and a bank in Ca . which actually stopped the transaction and notified my bank and me.A call to the manager was not returned.NB: The COMPROMISE STARTED RIGHT THERE. Good luck folks.

Mattress was broken and had a large hole in it. Hotel was clean, but really needs to be updated. Breakfast was two hours late on the first day and when we did have breakfast, the eggs were cold and they had no forks or knives. Was the worst holiday Inn we ever stayed at.

The room is nice, but the breakfast buffet was bad. There was no fruit, no sugar free syrup (I can even get this at motels), and no WATER. The orange juice machine was broken and there was no water available. All they had was coffee. An older gentlemen had to buy a $3 bottled water to have with his breakfast. Now to the service. The worst I have come in contact with at a hotel. I asked the food prep lady about the sugar free syrup and she did not even give me the respect to look at me when she said, no. A few seconds later, she scolded an older lady for trying to get more food. She told her to have respect for the other people who are trying to eat. I was dumbfounded. She paid for a breakfast buffet, she can eat as much as she wants. When my wife got to the buffet there was not a lot of food out yet. The food prep lady was standing right there and said nothing. A decent customer service person would tell you we have food coming. Listen, I'm tired of MY people providing bad customer service in a SERVICE industry. Customers do NOT owe you anything, but you owe the customer good service. That's what you are paid to do. We are ALL going through something, but no one goes on vacation to see you throwing your bad attitude around. If you don't want to be there, GO HOME!

Nothing about our stay at Holiday Inn Express in Lithonia was good. I should’ve trusted the reviews, but I like to base my own opinion off of my own experience. The hotel need to be shut down immediately. The General Manager Brian is a poor excuse for leadership and some of the staff feels this way. Cars were broken into, homeless people had access to walk the halls of the hotel, pest control Is obviously being avoided, front desk lacked presence, knowledge and professionalism! Breakfast area was not clean. Health Department need to be notified. Both elevators were inoperable. There was a used needle in the men’s public restroom! Visible blood on the needle! My dad stated he informed the General Manager Brian who brushed him off. My dad then stood next to the men’s restroom to see if someone would dispose of the needle after informing the General Manager. No one came. The hotel has a bad smell, the lobby was not welcoming. Floors sticky and grimy. Homeless man walked into the hotel and made himself a cup of coffee and left. I later saw this same man begging for change on the way in to the hotel. Staff were complaining about different issues they were having at the hotel and not being addressed properly by management. The entire hotel is miserable. I would rather stay at a Super 8!

I would have liked to say good things about our stay, but I can't. Let's just say that Holiday Inn Express brand is at the bottom of my list. We had confirmed reservations, but our selection of rooms was not available when we arrived; one was mobility accessible.

The Sink didn't drain, bathtub didn't drain, furniture is rotted, Cable didn't work, no sheets for pull out couch. On 8/20 the staff member doing breakfast was rude. I was juggling my food and my daughters food and spilled some rasian brand on the counter. She yelled at me for making a mess instead of yelling she could of helped me out. I do apologize that your employee had to get off her phone to do her job. She then went to the staff at the front counter and started to talk to her. The lady at the front desk kept looking over at me. It sure felt like they were talking about me. I definitely didn't get the warm welcome at this Holiday Inn. This is the worst Holiday Inn, I've ever stayed at. Stay away.

The front desk ladies were very friend land professional. I tried to get my room changed due to the peeling wall paper and tattered furniture as well as musty smell. While I was trying to get my room change unfortunately to no avail, I heard several guest come back to complain about the visible model in their room. When I talked to the general manager he offered no remedy because it wasn’t a “service” complaint. If you must stay here definitely arrive early to check your room to see if needs to be changed out. Would not recommend. I was told they are under renovation. Well if the room is not going to provide the guest a pleasant experience then don’t allow the room to be available until the changes have been made.

I had the most horrible experience ever and definitely would not recommend this hotel. I was visiting Atlanta due to a wedding, so my reservation was for 3 nights. We traveled 12 1/2 hours just to get to the hotel and get checked into room 301 we got settled in and ready for bed just to find out the bed was not fit to sleep in. The mattress was sunken in on both sides. We decided to wait until morning to talk to someone. We ended up leaving to go shopping and when we returned to our room the room was not cleaned. I went to the front desk and spoke to the front desk agent about us not receiving room service and informed her that we did not have no sign on our door. She stated that it had to be requested which was not true according to their website. So, I proceeded to ask for fresh towels and put a request for service for the next day. We get up to go and attend the wedding and didn't get back until 10pm to find our room once again was not serviced so now we have 2 days' worth of dirty towels in our room as well as 2 days' worth of trash in our room as well. I went down to speak to the young lady who was working the night before and who was supposed to have put me on the list for our room to be cleaned and her response was I don't know why they didn't clean your room because I put you on the list of complaint with the other guest who didn't receive room service either yesterday. I said this is unacceptable and I will be calling the GM who name is Brian Taylor. She proceeded to give me fresh towels and I said what am I supposed to do with the pile of towels and trash that is in my room she proceeded to give me 2 large black trash bags and 2 small clear trash bags for me to remove my own trash and towels and told me to sit it in the hall and she will come up and get them. I call Brian Taylor who refuse to have a conversation with me because he never returned my call to this day. My reservation was from May 25,2023 to May 28,2023. Brian is not professional and need to be fired, the staff needs to be retrained on hospitality and common courtesy. I advise you to stay at the other hotels that is next door to them but I definitely do not recommend you stay at this hotel.
