Hotels in Lisbon Old Town, Lisbon

Excellent location. The hotel had an interesting decor (explorer theme) and was somewhat dark. Breakfast in the restaurant was excellent. We were upgraded to a room with a balcony but would have preferred a room with more light - the balcony was the only light in the room. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was roomy. The only odd thing in the room were the 2 chairs that were so low to the ground they were impossible to sit in - very odd! Other than that the hotel was excellent and we would recommend.

The pros: -very close to metro station. - it was clean - I liked the friendliness of the staff - 24/7 reception - kettle, coffee maker in the room - the bed was comfortable and although the room was small i had everything needed The cons: -extremely thin walls, you could hear your neighbours conversations and peeing. -the room had a small window that I couldn't open and the view was on the corridor so you have to keep in blocked by curtains to avoid people looking at you. Which means, no natural light all stay - before my visit, I asked if the hotel if they can provide gluten free bread for breakfast, as I'm gluten intolerant, and they replied no. - the decor is cheap looking, this hotel pretend to be more fancy than it is in reality - shower doors didn't close properly, so every shower left me with flooding

There are three things that, in my opinion, separate this hotel from the rest: Location, because it is located in the center of everything Lisbon: attractions, restaurants, bars, and shops, all within walking distance from the hotel. Customer Service is second to none; they arrange our transportation from the airport to the hotel and back, they showed us all tour options available for our short stay, and everything with a smile and kind words. Last but not least, the buffet breakfast was amazing; too many options to choose from. Our next flight was scheduled at 6:30 am, and we were not able to have our breakfast, so they prepare 2 small boxes with our breakfasts, to have it on the go.

The hotel location is very good, located in the center of the old town, a few steps to the shopping center, there are many attractions nearby, even walking distance, the room layout and design is very good, the facilities are very good, the hotel service is very good, especially the kids club , Very suitable for family travel, breakfast is very rich, everything is very beautiful, but I think the shower settings need to be improved, should not have a bathtub, it is not convenient for children and the elderly to take a bath, in fact the bathtub is very impractical.

My wife and I have just returned from a 5-day break at this lovely hotel in the wonderful city of Lisbon. The hotel is beautiful, perfectly located and staffed by the friendliest of people at reception, the restaurant, and all the way through to the cleaning team. They are a real credit to the hotel. Everything was perfect for us. In fact, our only complaint relates to the sore feet we suffered from all the walking we did around this historical and vibrant city. Thank you to the hotel team for a super stay.

Check in was a breeze, we were shown to our room and offered help with our luggage. Our room was 413, the biggest in the hotel. We had 2 balconies, one over looking the castle and the other the square. The room was very well appointed and we had complimentary wine and Portuguese custard tarts. There's a mini fridge and complimentary water EVERY day. A coffee machine and a good selection of teas. We were also given a voucher for a complimentary drink on arrival and 20% off our meal in the bar/restaurant. VERY GENEROUS!!! My husband is vegan and struggles to find options but he had a vegan calzone and it was delicious. I had carbonara again delicious. The Pizzeria is very popular with non guests too which is a good sign. The bedding was super high quality and we had bathrobes and slippers. The room was quiet with the doors and shutters but it was also lovely to have them open and hear the city sounds. Immaculately clean too with sumptuous complimentary toiletries. Staff are great and super helpful. On checking out we left our cases there and were even given an extending check out time of 1pm FOC, which was handy. We were then given ANOTHER FREE drink voucher, which was lovely and so generous. The amount of complimentary things offered at this hotel is beyond belief and not usual in this day and age. We are late risers so we skipped breakfast at the hotel, but next door there's another hotel and they do a breakfast buffet (VERY GOOD) for 10Euros until 10.30am. Another great place (separate review) is the Copenhagen Coffee Lab ( out of hotel and turn right, a few yards up). My only tiny negative is the lack of draws in the room, no bedside drawers either, literally nowhere to put our t-shirts, underwear etc, they had to stay in the case. Also hooks are needed in the bathroom to be able to hang up the bathrobes. A quick fix!! Overall I would highly recommend, such a central location too.

From the moment you see the sign on the glimmering white tiled building and walk through the revolving door into the vintage lobby, you feel you’ve stepped back in time. You are on vacation from the hustle and bustle of our modern lives. The lobby is centered around a beautiful bar with superb cocktails and cold Super Bock on tap. The staff is sharply dressed and attentive and constantly making sure the breakfast buffet is well presented and fully stocked. The self serve mimosa bar and Lavazza Super automatic Espresso machines are a nice touch. The made to order omelettes and pastries are delicious. The rooms are comfortable with all the modern amenities including an awesome rain shower. If I’m being picky my only complaint was the AC in the room had trouble keeping up with the AC in the hallways and the automatic touch button LED lights didn’t have dimmers. The bathroom lights were blinding in the middle of the night. The gym was well equipped and located in the basement next to the well designed vintage business center. The vintage rotary phones were also a nice touch. Thank you for a wonderful couple of days in a beautiful neighborhood walking distance from most of the top Burroughs.

Excellent location. Close to Tram 28 station and metro station. Presence of supermarket on the ground floor. Spacious, tidy and comfortable room. Breakfast was perfect with sufficient choice of food and drinks. Staff was friendly. The only issue was the number of elevators was limited so the waiting time was a little bit long. But I would still recommend Hotel Mundial.

The Villa Baixa in Lisbon is a fantastic hotel with a prime location that makes it easy to explore the city's main attractions and access the train station. The one-bedroom apartment we stayed in featured a cozy balcony with a view of the pretty street below. The living area was well-furnished with a comfortable couch, coffee table, TV, and dining setup, making it feel like a home away from home. The kitchenette in our apartment was impressively equipped, including a small stove, refrigerator, and ample storage for food. This would have made it convenient to prepare meals during our stay, complemented by an array of kitchen utensils, cups, and plates. Additionally, the presence of a kettle and coffee maker with a limited supply of coffee pods was a thoughtful touch. The bathroom was spacious, with a large sink and a shower that offered excellent water pressure. The bedroom had a dark and quiet environment that ensured restful sleep, despite the bustling neighborhood outside. While the Villa Baixa does not offer on-site amenities and has limited front desk hours, the staff's friendliness and helpfulness made up for it. They were delightful and kind, contributing positively to our overall experience. However, it's worth noting that early arrivals may face challenges, as we did, when our red-eye flight left us waiting until 9 AM to check in. Despite these minor inconveniences, our stay was wonderful, and we would gladly return, especially with our seven-year-old daughter. Villa Baixa is a highly recommended choice for anyone visiting Lisbon!

We loved this hotel, the location was perfect, room was spacious and included free stocked fridge, and service and staff was always excellent. First the location is city center and we walked everywhere from here. It was nice to have SO many restaurants within a 5 minute walk. We did eat breakfast every day at the hotel and it was good and we never had an issue getting a table. I did opt to upgrade to a family suite I think it was which was located in the building across the way which I wasn't thrilled about at first but the rooms are newer and it was very spacious, windows were sound proof, and totally secure building. I was concerned about the two of us in a tiny room with big luggage for several nights so I was glad I paid the extra $ to upgrade. We also had a rental car, which this wasn't an ideal situation but it wasn't the end of the world either. I paid ahead of time for a parking pass, which the hotel offered, and it was a maybe a 4 or 5 minute walk to the parking garage and really wasn't an issue. In the evening when we checked in, the restaurants had tables all set up in the street so no cars allowed which meant us dragging out luggage down the street. When we checked out in the morning we were allowed to drive down and just load up the car which was nice. Again, not the end of the world. Absolutely recommend this hotel and we both said we would gladly stay here again.
