So welcoming I stayed an extra night. Home Lisbon Hostel really lives up to its name. I came for one night and stayed for two — that says it all. The energy is warm, relaxed, and authentic. Mama’s staff dinner was a standout, and the whole setup runs like a home — not just a hostel. Jasmine made a great breakfast on her first day, and Juliana and Luíse at the bar brought their own charm to the shared spaces. Gui, who was managing everything brilliantly, personally marked key spots for me on Google Maps, a personalised walking tour of Lisbon — a huge help. His attention to guests, even while juggling multiple roles, didn’t go unnoticed. I appreciated how the younger crowd had the option to join a lively, well-run pub crawl — while others like me could hang back, play Jenga, listen to music, and actually sleep well thanks to good air con and thoughtful room design. One detail that meant a lot: a quiet, private spot was made available for my SMART Recovery meeting. That’s rare and deeply appreciated. I’d return in a heartbeat. Je n'ai pas séjourné là mais ils ont presque le même nom que Home Host, un autre hostel de base comme eux, dans la même ville ! Qui a eu l'idée de génie de copier presque intégralement le nom de l'autre sans essayer de trouver une manière de ne pas se confondre ? J'ai voyagé dans 180 pays, jamais vu ça... Le gars à la réception ne comprenait pas pourquoi j'étais fâché d'avoir perdu 1h de mon temps à minuit le soir et de devoir trouver le bon hostel... au lieu de me dire oui c'est du n'importe quoi, il m'a dit de sacrer mon camp... Il y aura des conséquences, j'ai beaucoup d'imagination, on ne me manque pas de respect, petit impoli qui aura une belle surprise bientôt

Eu e minha mãe nos hospedamos em maio/25 por cinco noites neste hostel e tivemos uma experiência incrível. A localização é excelente e o atendimento de todos os funcionários é muito prestativo e atencioso, sempre com muita gentiliza e sorrisos. O café da manhã, apesar de sucinto, era bem servido e saboroso. Um pouco desorganizado (alguns itens demoravam a sair, como por exemplo os ovos mexidos que acabavam com frequência), mas isso não foi um problema. Pegamos um quarto individual com banheiro privativo e ele era muito espaçoso e confortável. Banheiro ótimo, com chuveiro muito bom, toalhas grandes e macias. Secador de cabelo nota 10, super potente. Nossa única crítica é com relação aos problemas elétricos e hidráulicos do quarto. Era comum sair água da torneira de repente, quando ouvíamos barulho de pressão da água do banheiro do lado bem alto. O ar condicionado e o ventilador ligaram sozinhos durante a noite algumas vezes. Informamos na recepção mas não foi resolvido. Com exceção desse ponto, toda a experiência foi maravilhosa, o ambiente é muito bem cuidado, decoração linda, tudo acessível e confortável. Recomendo com certeza a estadia.

I stayed at Home Lisbon last week and had an amazing time. It was my first time solo travelling and I couldn't have been happier with my stay. The staff are so helpful and have great advice on what to do/see in Lisbon. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable, although I found the top bunk bed a bit difficult to get up to but that's just a me problem! The location is absolutely perfect and close to all public transport, even the airport which was great. The atmosphere in the hostel was also really sociable and warm, it was very easy to get chatting to people. There is also space to work and study which I found really useful as a student. I would recommend Home Lisbon to anyone travelling to Lisbon, especially if you are a solo traveller!

I stayed here with two other friends from Mar 23 to Mar 27 2025. My phone was stolen within the first 10 minutes I got to this hostel, which is unfortunate because I really enjoyed my time here otherwise. The downside to this hostel is that the security getting in and out is very lax. All residents have to do is press a buzzer and they will immediately let you up. There is no camera at the front door outside the hostel (only the inside) so they actually have no way of figuring out who is actually a guest before they are let into the building. Unfortunately for me the night we arrived, there was someone who was not a guest at the hostel in the reception/common area. I left my phone on the registration desk for 10 minutes and unfortunately after checking their footage, we saw this person steal it. Despite the security cameras they have, the presence of cameras will not deter thieves or people who are not supposed to be there from stealing things. Other than help me report this incident to the local police, the management did not really offer any compensation for what happened. Just wanted to write this as a warning to other guests, it is not the most secure and safe hostel as it is purported to be. Be aware of your surroundings at all times. The people and staff are very friendly and the hostel is very social and talkative, so overall you will have a good time, but my experience was truly soured by the fact that my phone was stolen here.

⭐ An amazing experience! ⭐ This place is simply fantastic! The staff is always friendly, attentive, and ready to help. The location is perfect: just a 2-3 minute walk to the metro, close to Praça do Comércio, shops, and bus stops… everything is easily accessible. I had the chance to stay for two weeks, and I truly felt at home thanks to the warm and welcoming team. The cleanliness and hygiene are impeccable, and everything is well-maintained. Bonus: the food on-site is absolutely delicious! If you’re looking for a friendly and social hostel, where you can meet travelers from all over the world while feeling at home, look no further! I highly recommend it and will definitely be back.

I booked a stay at Good Morning Lisbon Hostel from the 5th to the 10th, but after a poor experience, I decided to leave early. When I requested a refund for the unused nights (which should be three nights), the staff made the process unnecessarily difficult. • When I first inquired about a refund on the morning of the 6th, I was told I might only get one to two nights refunded, even though I was clearly leaving early. • The front desk claimed that because I paid in cash, they might not be able to refund me in cash, and that I’d have to receive it through PayPal—which makes no sense. • The staff had to call the manager, who was on vacation, meaning I had to wait hours just to get a basic response. • The food quality was subpar, with overly salty and unbalanced flavors. • Many of the travelers were openly hostile, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere rather than the welcoming vibe a hostel should have. If you’re considering this hostel, be aware that refunds are difficult to process, the food is mediocre, and the social environment isn’t as friendly as advertised.
