The Ivens Hotel was home to the first luxury warehouse in the city in the XIX century as well as of the first Portuguese public. The iconic building is in every way representative of the XIX century a period which has marked the spirit and culture of Lisbon. The hotel has 87 unique and comfortable rooms of which ten are spacious suites including two signature top floor suites. The entrance was mapped to resemble the journey of Ivens and Capelo, two of greatest Portuguese explorers to unveil Africa back on the XIX century. The hotel holds three cinematic dining areas designed by Lazaro Rosa Violan who offer a journey through Italian cuisine, al fresco dining and a Barra area.

Very good hotel, good location, a few minutes walk from the Bica and Justa elevator.
The hotel is beautifully decorated, full of Lisbon style, with details everywhere. The breakfast is delicious and the service attitude is great.

The room has enough space and is very hygienic. You can open the balcony door but cannot go out. The service is also good, but the location is not very convenient. At this price, there should be more and better options. I probably won't stay here again next time.

Neat hotel, great location & wonderful service! Every staff member we encountered was proactive in a comfortable, genuine manner…not forced/fake service levels. Very refreshing - location is perfect, too. We easily explored and were able to pop back into the hotel for a refresh. Rooms are a little small, cozy but doable. Just not a lot of room for two suitcases.

I simply can't say enough about the hospitality demonstrated by staff at The Ivens. We booked a 3-night stay following a cruise with the intention of discovering a bit of Lisbon. The 2nd day was when the multi-country power outage hit. The Ivens' staff did absolutely everything humanly possible to take care of a hotel full of concerned tourists insuring everyone was safe, fed and kept as informed as possible given the situation. Absolutely incredible service and authentically caring hospitality demonstrated by literally everyone we interacted with. Not surprisingly, the hotel itself is beautiful, well-maintained and ideally located. A true gem all the way around!

Spectacular short stay at The Ivens as part of a birthday trip. Staff was extremely helpful and the property is a feast for the eyes! Food was perfect - either for a quick drink and snack or complete meal. First time to Lisbon and The Ivens, but won’t be the last!

This is an amazing hotel in the heart of LIsbon, but on a quiet street away from the madness of the main squares. Hotel bar/restaurant is possibly the best hotel bar/restaurant we’ve ever stayed at! Special shoutout to concierge for helping us with alternative travel options during a national rail strike. Would definitely stay here again!

The definition of a "boutique hotel". Kept the charm of an older buildng, the warmth of a club, and added the intimate feel of home. Staff were all professional and personable. The location lots of Lisbon walkable. It's our "GO TO" stop in Europe by ship or by air - a real find.
