As Janelas Verdes Inn - Lisbon Heritage Collection - Riverside

As soon as you step through the entrance you are in a lovely, quiet, hotel. The reception staff are friendly and very helpful. The housekeeping staff keep the guest rooms and indoor/outdoor areas clean and the kitchen staff make sure all food/drink is available. Room No 28 with the view of the Targus River is lovely, with the additional lounge area too. A leisurely breakfast, 07:00-12:00, with a good selection of food/drink on the terrace is a great way to start each day. The fresh pastries are lovely. The library and outside terrace on the 3rd floor has views of the Targus River and is a very peaceful place, using the honesty bar to wind down and relax. There are honesty bars and complimentary tea/coffee etc available throughout the hotel 24/7. The hotel is a nice distance from the centre of Lisbon. A walk along the river front to get to/from the centre is nice. There is also public transport available outside the hotel or just a short walk away. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is definitely a historic property (for some, that’s a good thing, less so for us). The common areas are worn and need a refresh. The rooms are small, cramped and over-priced compared to our other Lisbon Hotel (was same price, much nicer, better located). From the pictures on the website, we were expecting more. The air-conditioning work okay in the room but there was no air-conditioning in the bathroom. Only one chair in the bedroom and no room to do much else but sleep. The breakfast was ok but not great. Felt the hotel was over priced for the quality. We wouldn’t stay there again.

This is an absolutely charming small boutique hotel with comfortable rooms, convenient location, excellent breakfast, and top-notch service. It offers good value for the money. It is located in a nice residential area close to bus and tram stops, offering easy transportation options to the city's major attractions. Although it is not within walking distance to a subway stop, there are three bus routes that stop right in front of the hotel. Santos station, which is a major transportation hub, is a 7-minute walk away and offers additional bus and tram services. We stayed here for three days and took buses and trams everywhere. We stayed in a junior suite, which was very comfortable and luxurious. It is worth the extra cost, and it is still cheaper than regular rooms in most Lisbon hotels in major tourist areas. The neighborhood is beautiful, quiet, and safe, with a number of dining options nearby. Breakfast is served in a beautiful courtyard. The hotel has many public areas where hotel guests can sit, relax, and have a drink, including a charming library. I highly recommend this hotel, especially if you are looking for a boutique hotel with a lot of character.

This is an incredible hotel filled with beautiful antiques - I felt like I had traveled back in time to early last century. Even our hotel room contained lovely antiques. The breakfast area is in a gorgeous outdoor garden area. The food was plentiful and delicious. Dining in the garden area was such a lovely way to start the day. For the remainder of the day, teas, coffee, flavoured water and some delicious treats are provided in one of the delightful common areas. One issue is that I found the hotel to be a little bit away from main areas of the city. My only other issue was that we arrived early on our first day (about 10am), I was feeling quite unwell which we explained to the receptionist and asked if we could have access to our room as soon as possible. Check in time was stated to be 3.00pm. Despite asking a few times whether our room was ready, we were not told our room was ready until after 3.15pm. I was very disappointed.
