We have recently returned after staying nearly three weeks at the beautiful Hotel das Amoreiras. It is very stylish and tastefully decorated - a real gem. The owner, Pedro Biancard d’Oliveira, has completely redeveloped two town houses around a quiet courtyard to create 19 rooms on two floors. Although they are not large, they are comfortable, well-appointed and completely quiet. An excellent breakfast is included, served in the garden courtyard, or optionally inside. Although there is no dinner service, snacks and drinks are available all day, and there are several very good restaurants nearby. We found all the staff to be genuinely friendly and helpful. The hotel overlooks the lovely Parca Amoreiras, with its beautiful trees and fountain. It is a gathering place for the locals to enjoy drinks and snacks from the historic kiosk. For us it was pleasant to sit and relax in the shade and take in the scene. Opposite the hotel on the other side of the park is the No 24 tram which we found convenient to take us to other parts of the city . The metro is also within easy walking distance, and we found that the Uber service in Lisbon is an excellent alternative for those who prefer to travel by car. We would like to especially thank the wonderful concierges for their help. Nothing was too much trouble. Lisbon is full of attractions, and after a busy day of sightseeing, we found the hotel to be a haven to relax and unwind in comfort. Thank you, Pedro, for creating such a lovely place to stay. We have very happy memories.
