Best Western and Hotel Linkoping

Hotel was fine, but we were not warned that parking would cost 1100 sek (100 eur) per night in the same building. Very upsetting.

The location is easily walkable to a number of restaurants and a great open plaza with outdoor bars, dining and music. Since the summer weather was ideal, this was a great attraction for me. The hotel is acceptable, but American travelers in particular need to understand you get actually what they advertise. The rooms are quite small with very limited functional space, but I do not fault them for that as I was aware but feel it necessary to mention in order to set expectations. Service is where it needs some work. I had two issues in two days. First, I was made aware at check in that there was a large group having dinner in the restaurant the following evening, but I was assured they would still be able to serve me but would seat me elsewhere which was fine. When I arrived for dinner I was curtly told that “we gave time to cook for you” and basically shooed away. As a Platinum member I was a bit shocked. The second issue was that since I was checking out at 4:30am, the desk clerk advised me to complete a breakfast carry out order card and to leave it at the front desk which I did. She said if the night clerk was not there to pick up the desk phone which automatically would call him/her. I spent 20 minutes calling that phone and no one ever showed up. I suspect they were likely napping somewhere. As a result I used the self checkout and left empty handed. These are easily solved service issues so I encourage the hotel to work in that as I have future business in my hus town and would not otherwise mind staying here again.
