Fossickers Cottages

My husband and I stayed Friday night - Tuesday morning of the October long weekend. Caught up with our extended family who’ve been living and mining here for a number of years. I wanted to be able to cook and bring our family together - despite the cottage only being suitable to sleep 2 , was able to be reorganised with some loan chairs and paper plates to produce a feast of food for a group of six two nights and an early pizza night for nine our first night. The bed was very firm, so I slept on the sofa which was short but soft & comfortable and there were plenty of extra blankets. The garden is a tranquil little paradise with a variety of bird life visiting, our two elderly small rescue dogs were safe and secure in the fully fenced yard. Will return one day soon to enjoy more of this fascinating town, my only hope would be that the bowling club can improve on their sign-in process & friendliness (took 20 minutes to get two visitors memberships) and when we did we found the food was much less than ordinary and the sweets bar closes at 8pm (lucky we’d been to IGA and stocked the fridge, the kids didn’t miss out we had our own stash). Tip - take some mosquito spray with you they come out at dusk and don’t forget to pick up a local edition of Monopoly 😜👍

Loved our stay in Flagstone Cottage. There were three adults travelling together and it was nice to have room to spread out. House is very well equipped and we made use of the washing machine and dishwasher. Perfect location for sightseeing and within walking distance of restaurants and cafes. Rey impressed with the cleanliness of the house.

Recently stayed at Harlequin Cottage Overpriced for the two nights Stay in town compared with other areas It was neat and clean however needed to be renovated for the price Would not recommend to stay unless price was less. Charged as luxury place but very much budget stay

We recently stayed in the 3 bedroom Flagstone cottage. It was very, very clean and so comfortable with a huge bathroom. Large veranda to relax on in the afternoon after looking in all the opal shops. Under cover parking as well. It is in walking distance to the shops, clubs etc. A great place to stay in Lightning Ridge.
