Popular Lidingo 4-star Hotels

We stayed 4 nights in June 2023, choosing a ”Superior Room”. It's a solid 4 star choice - not outstanding but perfectly satisfactory. The room was large. with an absolutely amazing view of the bridge and the water. The beds were very comfortable. There is no air conditioning so the room got very hot. The shower was good (no bath). The location is good near a bus stop giving easy access around the island or back to Stockholm. Journey to Stockholm Central is only 20 minutes despite requiring a bus and train. Breakfast was about the standard I expected, though a smarter hotel would have had fresh croissants instead of leathery ones. It had the same wonderful view as our room but a lot of noise (at this season at least) from children running around and screaming. Special mention goes to the lifts which were fast and smooth and never made us wait. Facilities were a bit basic. No fridge or safe, tiny wardrobe. Tea and coffee in the room was so-so - a decent range for making instant but, mysteriously, nothing to stir with. The table tennis was excellent with good bats and balls available to use with no fuss. (There were other games I didn't use). Overall a good choice both for Lidingo and as a value offer for seeing Stockholm. Service was attentive. When I pointed out that the bedside lights had stopped working, they got it fixed within the day.

This should not be listed as a hotel as it’s more of a hostel. We arrived on the first of May late in the night. We got our keys from reception and when we got to the room it was filthy. The “clean” bedsheets had black stains on them, the curtains were hanging off, the bathroom was dirty and the mattresses were covered in unidentifiable stains. We felt so uncomfortable and unsafe that we didn’t even unpack and we went out to reception with our bags to hand back the keys. The women on the desk asked to see the room and after showing her the filthy room so said “ I can get new sheets”, we asked her if she would stay in a room like this and she answered no. If the room was clean before arrival then why would we need to change the bedsheets again? After speaking with the women on the desk she said she couldn’t refund us and there were no other rooms available for the night. We spoke to her colleague (jimmy) on the phone who also said he couldn’t help us other than to give a email to contact regarding a refund. We were left on our first night in Stockholm without accommodation and no help from the staff at this hotel. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. It cost us a lot of money to book somewhere else and not to mention it being after midnight by the time we got accommodation sorted. I have emailed the email given to me by reception and 6 days later, I still haven’t received a response. It’s disgraceful and so unprofessional. Avoid this place at all costs
