Hilton Garden Inn Guanacaste Airport

Perfect location for Liberia Airport with a free shuttle every 15 minutes. The hotel was spotless and had amazing facilities including an outdoor pool and gym. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Air con unit was very noisy and we did have to turn off but the room was cool enough anyway.

This is your typical Hilton hotel you would find in America, honestly if you just came here you would think you are back home. Also, they have amenities such a restaurant, pool and fitness room at this hotel. Restaurant food is okay, nothing like the food you have probably have enjoyed while traveling around Costa Rica. Lastly, the room was clean and standard, no fuss! It is also very close to all the rental car return places. Breakfast is not included with reservation, it is something you pay out of pocket. Overall, very great option for someone traveling in or out of Liberia Intl Airport.

Beyond the price and service itself, what truly concerns me about this restaurant is the current ethical context. Hilton Garden Inn is part of a larger group that has been involved in actions perceived by some as attempts to suppress local voices concerned about environmental protection and efforts seen by many as attempts to intimidate or silence local voices who are simply trying to defend a fragile ecosystem. At least for me supporting this hotel may mean turning a blind eye to environmental harm and the erosion of civil liberties. Just stopped to visit part of our group while on vaca. A Large group had dinner at their restaurant. It was delicious. The presentation was amazing and the food was great. Kevin did a great job as out server. Very impressed! Snapper, catch if the day pic.

Had the unpleasant experience of staying at this hotel when our flight got cancelled with short notice. A few examples of what we faced: - One hour wait for the shuttle to be transferred to the hotel. Another 2 hour wait standing in line to check in to the room. And..finally more than one hour wait after being seated at our table in the restaurant until the food was served at the plate. Yes, all the waiting time described can be somewhat excused by the fact that a flight was cancelled ant that a large number of guests arrived unexpectedly but being a hotel by the airport there should be some type of backup planning for these occations. - The room itself smelled awful (a combination of ingrained smoke in the full floor carpet along with a clear odor of urine in the bathroom). The beds were like sleeping on a block of concrete and the noice of the AC was equivalent to that of an aiplane engine. The title of this review was expressed by my wife when entering the room. The only other experience this bad was a hotel in Copenhagen a few years back where (where the receptionist handling the check-in process simultaneously also acted as the bartender in the bar - to give you an idea). Not a very good last memory from an otherwise amazing vacation in beautiful Costa Rica.
