we had a Fabulous Stay recently at the Smithy Lodge..Wonderful Guest House and The Owner Dereck is a very informative and Lovely Gentleman. Very disappointed. I have been trying to get hold of the owner for over month to get an invoice for our stay. We checked out early due to not being satisfied with the stay, were charged full price - which i understand but after requesting an invoice for over a month - they now avoid my calls or put the phone down on me

Faultless. Small, but very comfy and homely and owned by the wonderful Derek who cannot do enough for you. The place is operating theatre clean, and I really do mean clean. Beds are comfy and you will never go cold in winter here. Breakfasts are tip-top too. Only slight fault is you don't get enough of it, but then I am quite greedy! I have no hesitation whatsoever about recommending the place, you cannot go wrong here.

First night at smithy’s lodge. We travelled across from Hull for a boxing tournament , arrived 7pm and was met with a warm welcoming.. The lodge is clean & comfortable and the host are very friendly, Nice table lay out for breakfast area and a very chilled out lounge area… Breakfast options are to suit anyone with a wide variety, the sausage Pattie is just heaven also we asked for a specific breakfast for our boxer and it wasn’t a problem.. all local amenities close by co op takeaways fish & chips and a very friendly pub at the end of the road. We look forward to our second night tonight Would definitely recommend and return… 🥇

Despite my visit being unplanned due to my stairlift at home being out of order, I was made to feel welcome and comfortable. I felt that no request would be too much, both Derek and Jane were happy to help. My room was very roomy, and I was delighted to see the old wooden beams in place, the owner Derek told me mine was the only room with the beams still in place, dating from the building’s prior history as a smithy. The gardens at the back are a delightful surprise. I highly recommend a stay here.

A loverly guest house that had everything we wanted for a one night stay over,plenty of parking spaces, room spotlessly clean with modern deco, the owner very welcoming and helpful, and the cooked breakfast in the morning was delicious, would highly recommend and will definitely be back soon
