The Wyvill Arms

Our party of 4 were thoroughly impressed with the Wyvill Arms. The staff were so friendly and the new chef had pulled out all the stops, each starter and main course were delicious. Our two dogs were made extremely welcome and were very chilled out, making the whole evening so relaxing and one to remember for a long time.

We have just returned from a two night stay at the Wyvill arms and the staff were incredible. From the moment we arrived until we left the staff made us feel very welcome and at home. We were going to a wedding and when we asked about a local taxi number the staff said they could drop us off and pick us up. Myself and my partner were shocked at the kindness. The food was delicious and it was lovely atmosphere. Ned was amazing and looked after us during our stay. Thank you so so much for making us feel special and looked after. Thank you for Vicky for taking us to the wedding and for Ned for picking us up. Ned even phoned us to say bye as we didn’t see him when we left. We really would love to go back in future and we would 100% recommend this place to everyone!

Stayed here for 1 night before visiting local racing yard. The property is really pretty. My room was on the ground floor with a little outdoor area. Bed was comfy, bathroom large and decent shower. Dinner was gorgeous. I had the steak, my friend the fish cakes. Plenty of food. We shared the sticky toffee pudding. Divine. Staff were all lovely. Nice outdoor area where we had drinks prior to dinner. Would definitely return.

This is our second visit and we stayed for 3 nights but wished it had been for longer. We B and B regularly and it is up there with the best. It is family run pub with quirky, individualised rooms and food that is absolutely amazing! All the staff are brilliant but we want to give Ned a huge ‘shout out’. He is an exceptional young man who has definitely found his calling. He is polite,friendly and can’t do enough for you. We stayed in room 5, this time, which was spacious and beautifully appointed. There is a wonderful, big, hot shower and large, fluffy towels - just what you need after a long walk. Now to the food: we ate all 3 nights here,rather than go elsewhere, as we knew it was going to be amazing from our previous stay. This is not your typical pub grub. Nigel certainly knows what he’s doing and delivers a varied menu that has something for everyone. This is some of the tastiest food we have had anywhere. Breakfast is equally as good as you certainly won’t go hungry. All in all we would highly recommend a stay or a meal and we can’t wait to rebook!

I arrived at the Wyvill Arms already quite content with my booking knowing I’d saved a considerable amount of money compared to other accommodation in the area. As soon as I walked in I was greeted warmly and swiftly shown to my room. Amenities were explained and I was made to feel completely at home from the offset. The room was a fantastic size and the bed was equally huge and doubly comfortable. The bathroom was really modern and really nice. It was a superb space to unwind and prepare for the next day. Breakfast was a great experience, I was able to have a really lovely conversation with the staff whilst enjoying a huge breakfast which set me up perfectly for a big day. The entire experience was one of ease and comfort and I will certainly stay again should I need to. Thanks to the team for a lovely stay.

Well what can I say yet another wonderful weekend. For the 5th year on a trot, we pitched up across the road at the caravan site and booked in twice at the Wyvill Arms for meals as well as popping in most days for a drink. Love this pub, staff are so lovely and friendly great service as always from everyone esp Ned who’s adorable and Vicky. The food NEVER disappoints I just wish I could eat 3 courses. Shared the biggest battered prawns I’ve ever seen which were just the best and as always have my chicken stuffed with mozzarella and a Stilton and leek sauce. Hubby had fillet steak he said it just melted in his mouth. Today we booked and had the Sunday roast. I don’t go out for roasts as I love doing them. It was the best roast I’ve ever had. I also got to see some of the bedrooms you can stay in wow big and beautifully decorated. Definitely a pub worth stopping at. Thank you Wyvill Arms for making us so welcome ….again. Just got back from a lovely two night at the Wyvill Arms. From the location to the breakfast, everything was perfect (highly reccomend the Eggs Benedict!). Friendly and welcoming staff, particular shout out to Ned who was very welcoming from the start and always made time to check in and have a chat at the end of the day as travelling alone. Can't comment on the dinner menu but will certainly be back and sampling it then!

Stayed on a Friday night for just the 1 night . The host Ned was very welcoming and polite. Had a meal in the restaurant which was very nice. Room was very nice. The bed was amazingly comfortable. Shower was brilliant too. Breakfast in the morning was a small portion but very nice. Would highly recommend this stay.

After a really bad experience in a nearby hotel which resulted in us leaving and not staying the night we stumbled upon this hotel and we are so thankful, what an amazing place. The staff are so friendly and go above and beyond the food is exceptional, fantastic evening meal and breakfast. The rooms are beautiful, we had a look at the garden rooms before leaving Wow!! We will definitely be back soon.
