WoodSpring Suites Lexington Southeast

I stayed here while working in the area, and while the room was affordable, it didn’t meet expectations. Unfortunately, the room was not very clean, and there was a strong smell of smoke that made it uncomfortable. It was disappointing because the price was reasonable, but cleanliness and a fresh environment are important to me. I hope they can address these issues for future guests.

I hate to trash places but pay the extra to go elsewhere. This is an extended stay place with a queen size cot and 1 sheet and thin wool blanket with 2 pillows. Halls smell like a combination of **** and cigarettes, funny its a non-smoking facility. Half used bar of soap on top of the shower insert with some ashes from something that was smoked. Slept fully clothed on top of the blankets, brought own pillows. This is not a place for family or romantic get aways. I was going to take pictures but the wife is trying to stricken this from her memory. Was afraid to open the a/c unit to check the filter, I can only imagine......

My family became displaced following an injury to my legs that cost me my job, and until disability came through we had no where to go. After checking out several other extended stay hotels Woodspring Suites turned out to be the most affordable and the most convenient. Even with this being said I was still reluctant due to me staying there once before and knowing the reputation it holds. But... The General Manager (Maxie) has worked hard to turn this place around and it shows. My family started out planning to be there a couple of weeks but as life would have it we ended up being there 3.5 months. I can honestly say my family and I felt comfortable and safe there at all times, and the staff (Chris, Brea, Jagger, Tony, and Scott), all took excellent care of us whenever we needed assistance. The hotel was under renovations while we were there and we got to see the before and after. It definitely looks more upscale now with modern appliances and flat screen tvs in every room. New paint scheme and furniture also helped make the place seem more classy than before. So if you've ever heard anything about this place, my advice would be to see for yourself. Unless someone has been there in the last month or so they really can't give an accurate assessment of the property or staff. Both have been revamped and Maxie and Company are there to insure your stay is pleasant and affordable. Never have I been sentimental over leaving a hotel, but this one I was.
