Based on the on-line pictures and write-up we had high expectations for this Ascend Hotel Collection property. Unfortunately, they went unfulfilled. Other than the convenience of its central location there was nothing special about the property. All the parking was in the rear or on the side, but the only entrance was through the front doors. A seriously sloping sidewalk made getting the rolling luggage cart stable a real challenge...there was no bellman or valet. The roof deck dining on the second floor was only open in the evening so you couldn't go out there to read or take your morning coffee. The lobby had no seating or anything to recommend it as a place to relax. The "complimentary" breakfast was minimal and served in the elevator lobby on the second floor. So, no pool, no tennis, no golf, no stables, no gym, no bell service, no valet...BUT...they charged a "Resort Fee" of $10.00 a day. What For? When I asked at the desk the answer I got was basically, "because they could". The in-house restaurant "Juniper" was decent, but it wasn't operated by the hotel, it was a contract company operation. At over $200./night we didn't get what we were paying for...would not stay there again.
