Mercure Thame Lambert Hotel

Just had a fantastic afternoon tea and The Lambert Hotel. Superb service and lovely variety of sandwiches, scones and cakes. Will definitely be going back again. Thank you to all who served us.

Yesterday we stayed at the hotel for a family wedding I've driven past this hotel hundreds of times Yesterday I was wowed The staff & the hotel was perfect The food & drink we drank was perfect I wanted to share this with others as good places to stay are always better when genuine people recommend We're all ready looking forward to coming back at some point Very well done 👏 ✔️

I’m writing this as I can’t get to sleep, and I have to be up early to make breakfast by 09:30 - yes 09:30, on holiday. The temperature is more than tropical. Needless to say no A/C. A fan provided helps but what I really want to be able to do is open a window more than a couple of cms. However, we are on the first floor and there a concerns that I might fall out I guess so the window can’t be opened more than this. As I am aged ＞ 75, the risks of heat stoke far out weigh the jumping problem. Please don’t expect cool rooms or a long rest in bed.

Paid for an upgrade on the ground floor and it was on the first floor. The hotel is soul-less. On arrival the main reception staff were not welcoming at all. just gave us our key cards, no explanation where our rooms were. When we came back down the staff member on duty was asked to check we had paid for a round of drinks at the bar, my sister in law got told “have you tried the remote” when she said tv was not working in her room. Self service breakfast and the dining area was very hot.

Stayed one night on our journey back from Egypt. Needed a place to stay close to Chinnor where we live as my in-laws were sleeping at our house that evening. We checked in to the hotel in the early hours. The chap on reception was incredibly nice and helpful. The room was clean, smart had all the regular amenities. We slept like logs. The hotel itself is very pretty. I can't fault the place.

5 stars I don’t usually write reviews, but Mercure Thame Lambert truly deserves one. This is the best Mercure I’ve stayed at in a very long time. Everything was exceptional—from the spotless, comfortable rooms to the excellent food and service. A special mention goes to Hassan, who was an absolute superstar. He went above and beyond to make our stay feel special—professional, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. It’s rare to find such consistent quality and care. I’ll definitely be back.
