We stayed for 3 nights and found our stay to be excellent. The setting is beside the golf course and the grounds are immaculate. Service at the guest house could not be faulted, the breakfast, included in the price, was plentiful and served to your table. Our room was quite small but well provided and tastefully decorated. The ensuite bathroom had a great walk-in shower. My wife has some mobility issues and our only concern was the steepness of the stairs and the narrow tread. All the staff were very friendly and helpful with great local knowledge for dining options. The indoor pool looked very inviting and could be booked for private use. A very enjoyable stay was had.

Great couples getaway
We stayed in the Bothy as a couples retreat and it was an amazing relaxing experience. Nice and secluded, total privacy and the hosts are so welcoming! Breakfast was great too. Would love to visit again

We discovered Burton Lodge after our usual plans fell through and we are so glad we did! The guest house is exceptional - spotlessly clean and super friendly and helpful staff. Parking was not a problem as there was plenty of space. Breakfast was delicious and ordering in advance prevents waste and we were still able to get extra toast when we underestimated. The swimming pool was a major bonus for our family of five - we were able to start our day with a family swim after breakfast. In the evening we used the lounge which was so much better than a chain hotel where you are confined to bedrooms. We will definitely be returning to Burton Lodge when we are next in the area.

Just returned from a lovely 1 night stay as this wonderful guest house. Nothing is too much trouble. We used the spa and had treatments on our stay. We had it all to ourselves for a couple of hours as we were offered an early check in due to the treatment times that were available. The spa is so beautiful, so clean and smells amazing. It’s in a beautiful purpose built building and overlooks the golf course. Beautiful views, but with one sided glass so still very private. The owners have thought of everything and there are changing rooms, toilets and a shower room in the spa area. We both had a treatment and the therapist was so lovely. I had a gorgeous mini facial and my husband had the luxury back massage. Our room was clean, comfortable with a huge bed and a lovely powerful shower. Tea and coffee, biscuits and a water machine just outside our room. They have an honesty bar in a lovely lounge overlooking the garden. We had booked Burts for our dinner but decided on the local pub instead. Huge portions and very reasonable prices. Just a 10 minute walk. Breakfast was lovely and all freshly prepared. You pre order when you arrive. Proper cafetière coffee, which we love to see. All in all this was a lovely, peaceful night away and just what we needed. Would love to stay again in ‘The Bothy’ when we have chance. Thank you ☺️

Stayed here initially as a one off through business, but had to visit the area again the following week. I immediately wanted to re-book this place as it was a very nice place to stay. The guest house is quite large and set in quiet and beautiful area. Beds are very comfortable and rooms immaculate. The steam room and pool are unique and free to use. I asked to use the steam room when I booked in as it may need time to warm up, but by the time you’ve unpacked and had a cuppa, it’ll be ready. Breakfast was very nice and the quality was excellent, (you pre-order the breakfast when you ‘book in’). There is a very nice pub that serves excellent food for your evening meal. But be aware they are closed on Mon/Tues. If I ever have cause to re-visit the area and have to stay overnight, I would always try and book this place.

Stayed on our way to Beverley races. High end guest house and the owner couldn’t have been any more helpful. We stayed in room 7, big and spotless throughout. Much better than a chain hotel etc. Ate at a local Pizzeria, which was excellent on the waterside and a five minute walk. Swimming pool/ steam room was absolutely fantastic, will make sure and visit again.
