Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Leesburg/Mt Dora

I had the most pleasant experience at Microtel in Leesburg Florida. Staff was so very kind and welcoming. Great service with housekeepers, as well . Helpful and accommodating. I had a 7 night stay, feeling extremely safe, as I was staying alone. I would definitely return.

If you are looking for accommodations that practice racial profiling, stereotyping and discrimination, this is the place to stay. I initially did not plan or intend to write a review since my issue was supposed to be resolved weeks ago, but since it wasn't, and no follow up to my messages to the manager have been met, I feel the need to share our unfortunate experience. I booked at this hotel for two nights in mid-June. My husband arrived several hours after me, and when he arrived the front desk attendant, "Sam", did not greet him like a guest. My husband asked to direct him to the elevator and Sam proceeded to question "who he was coming to see, why he was there, and what room he was going to" in an interrogating manner. My husband located the elevator on his own to the 2nd floor. He did not have a key because I had checked in earlier than him. When I opened the door, I witnessed Sam actually following him to our room, and antagonizing him as an to attempt to instigate emotions, and even threatened to call the police on him....until he retracted his comments once I opened the door. Fortunately, my husband handled it on my behalf - having him be a retired police detective, deputized U.S Marshall, and Veteran of the military, and currently serving the U.S. Government with the highest level security clearance - he was the best person out of the two of us to handle this situation. I was NOT at all happy on how he was treated. It was inappropriate, uncalled for, appalling, and discriminatory. Early the next morning, we checked out (one day early as we refused to stay the second night). I spoke with the manager, Larissa, who assured me that the second night would be refunded. She was courteous, understanding, and professional. Since I booked through Southwest, they confirmed that they sent multiple emails, attempted to call the hotel multiple times with no success for a response to refund the second night. I asked Larissa to pull the video footage, which she did, but unfortunately, there was no audio to the confrontation. Today is July 5th, and I have left 3 messages for Larissa and no return call. I can only assume that she did not receive my messages. I am in the process of escalating this to the Corporate Offices. In this volatile world that we live in, no one should ever have to be treated in a discriminatory manner, particularly a paying guest. I have been in customer service industry for over 30 years, and I would never coach or develop my employees to treat others like this. On another note, Microtel Inn in Leesburg has mediocre accommodations. Surprisingly, it had mirrors on an entire wall that left me wondering what kind of establishment it caters to. Although it was as clean as it could get, it is dated and could use some renovations. We would never stay here again, and would not recommend this place. We ended up booking down the street at the Holiday Inn Express in Tavares (just 2 miles further), where we were treated like a valued guest,

Nice stay-served the purpose for travel. Bed was comfortable-room was very small. Close to restaurants and stores.

Bed bugs bit me badly

Convenience store was a plus. Rooms are a bit small.

The hotel was wonderful! Clean, good breakfast, nice staff, The only thing that was interesting was that there was no shower pressure. I enjoyed my stay
