The room is clean and tidy, the bed is small but comfortable, and the service is friendly. There is a small swimming pool outside for bathing. The restaurant has a good environment and various local dishes are very professional.

Came for a special occasion ( birthday ) Spa facilities not well maintained, needs some tlc, spa super crowded ( quantity control needed ) , outdoor loungers hoods/sun covers were broken and wouldn’t stay up , the “ cold plunge pool” was warm and needed a good clean as was going green on the barrel, paid for a afternoon spa / afternoon tea experience, outdoor hotub was occupied ( full ) for 50 mins after the notice said 15 mins , when asking a member of staff they weren’t very helpful with a “ no can do attitude”, staff could have been more professional/ smiley considering it’s customer service and hospitality throughout both restaurant and spa , very disappointing as this is not our first rodeo. Finally the afternoon tea was average, all the cakes were dry and crumbly ( requested a manager ) and had to ask twice for this. The glasses were filthy and had to request fresh ones, They agreed the cakes were not up to standard and had been left in the fridge too long and took it in the kitchen to show the chef ( after standing there crumbling the cakes apart at the table ) , while they did apologise, no compensation was offered or any money back, was not worth the money! They advised there isn’t anything they can do as it was a package of afternoon tea / spa ( which was booked direct through them ) Really let down and wouldn’t be returning or recommending in the future. Previously 12 months ago I would have absolutely given 5* and the food used to be fantastic. Really let down :( not a satisfied customer .

So disappointed this visit, it was a birthday celebration. Spa with afternoon tea. The spa needs refreshing, the drinks are minimal for maximum cost. The seating area hoods were broken, the dunking pool was warm not cold. Not enough showers, the ice cold water provided complimentary was warm. We then ventured to afternoon tea, the cakes were so dry, we discussed this with the manager, she offered a complimentary drink, nothing else she could do. Safe to say our daughter won’t be having her wedding here, and we won’t be returning, poor show

Went for an impromptu night away and spa. Spa is small but well thought through, nice little quirks. Wasn’t over booked so very relaxing. It looked clean and well kept. Service was good, staff generally quite engaging and the food perfectly fine. Not fine dining, but menu was varied and interesting. Our only issue was the awful cheep mattress. Not even a mattress topper. Surely hotels must realise that providing a comfortable bed is their first responsibility. There is no point having great quality everywhere where else if you don’t invest in decent beds! Put a reasonable pocket sprung mattress or a memory foam topper on your beds please! We would love to visit again, but unless the management fix this very basic need we won’t be.

Came here for a mud bath spa stay via Virgin Experiences. We had 3.5 hour spa with mud bath and then a hot tub room with dinner and breakfast. Initial impressions were good pulling up the place looks nice and is a lot bigger than you realise. We were slightly early for our spa so got a drink and then came back. Spa facilities looked nice and modern but there is barely anything there to do and the one hot tub can only just about fit four couples in it and it was busy when we were etc there. They do have a sign up asking for you to keep to 15 mins to be fair to other guests but this was not enforced in any way and we couldn’t get in as people were in there at least an hour, the ‘mud bath’ is three small dishes of mud that you put on yourselves in a steam room with plastic chairs. It wasn’t awful but not worth the £50 a couple they charge if not included (in my opinion) The room was ok, for some reason we appears to have an adapted bathroom which I understand they won’t always have people in need of those facilities and can’t just leave them empty but it was just a bit odd with everything so low down. Room itself was ok but a little tired and the worst thing was the bed creaked extremely loudly any time you moved this completely affected our sleep. Food on the evening I had to send my chicken back it was raw. Staff all seemed very stressed and ‘managed’ who spoke to me was quite rude initially but think they maybe reflected on their words as were better after. In general other than the young lady serving food and drinks to the spa most of the staff seemed stressed and blunt. Being transparent other than the chicken I didn’t give them chance to do anything about this as this had been a gift from my partner and he was feeling low it hadn’t been great and just wanted to get out of there so I can’t comment on if they would have done more with this feedback and want to be open about that.
