New Inn Hotel

Location: Frequently praised as "excellent," "central," and "convenient," with easy access to local attractions and parking.

Day visit to Lechlade and nearly by accident found this place. I could write words of this experience all about being an oasis in the desert or... Keep this visit clear and simple. A Party of 5, one wanting coffee, 3 wanting differing beers and one driver just wanting a fizzy soft drink (Pepsi, Coke or alternative) with a relaxing place to sit and recharge. We had already called at a few places away from the hustle and bustle of the riverside only to be told, "no seats", "no hot drinks" or was simply too noisy. Then like an advance party, I walked into The New Inn. Greeted immediately (good start) and I guess I could have appeared rude getting to the point of "Coffee?" I got a smile and almost a laugh with "yes, no problem". I must have confused the gent behind the bar as I replied "good" and headed back out the door. Returned less than a minute later, table with seats found and back to the bar. I remembered to order the Guinness first, then it was coffee, Coke, pint of Landlord and looking for something completely different concluded the order with a mis-named Apocalypse (found out afterwards it was called Alpaca Lypse). Cold drinks all served with matching brand glasses, always nice keeping attention to detail and all this with change from 25 quid! The atmosphere in this place was excellent! We were able to chat, listen, relax as well as banter at the bar. I cannot fault the whole experience!
